We are currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Android Developer / Android Development Lead to join our dynamic team and support one of our major banking clients.

Required Skills and Technical Experience

  1. Angular Development (5+ years): Experience with Angular and hybrid mobile application development, particularly with Ionic.
  2. Native Android Development (7+ years): Strong hands-on experience developing native Android applications using Kotlin and/or Java, Android SDK, and modern Android development frameworks.
  3. Hybrid-to-Native Migration (1+ year): Hands-on experience migrating existing hybrid Ionic applications to native Android applications.
  4. Google Play Store Deployment (2+ years): Experience preparing, signing, packaging, submitting, and deploying Android applications to the Google Play Store, including managing app releases and version updates.
  5. Release and Rollout Strategy (1+ year): Experience with Android release management, staged rollouts, version control, deployment planning, monitoring, troubleshooting, and rollback strategies.
  6. Session and Cookie Management: Strong understanding of authentication, session management, cookie handling, session expiration, secure storage, and related security considerations in Android applications.
  7. Application Architecture and Navigation: Knowledge of Android architecture patterns and frameworks, such as MVVM, Clean Architecture, and Android Jetpack components. Ability to explain the application's architecture and end-to-end navigation flow, from user login through the main application features.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working on enterprise-scale mobile applications in the banking or financial services industry.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including backend developers, QA engineers, architects, and business stakeholders.
  • For lead-level candidates, experience providing technical guidance, conducting code reviews, mentoring developers, and supporting architectural and technical decision

Responsibilities

Develop and support Android applications for a major banking client, including migrating existing Ionic hybrid applications to native Android and managing Google Play Store releases. Explain and support application architecture and navigation flows, and, at lead level, provide technical guidance, conduct code reviews, mentor developers, and contribute to architectural decisions.

Requirements

Candidates need 5+ years of Angular and hybrid mobile development experience, 7+ years of native Android development with Kotlin and/or Java, and hands-on experience migrating Ionic applications to native Android. They should also have experience with Play Store deployment and release strategies, secure session and cookie management, and Android architecture; banking experience and technical leadership capabilities are preferred.
