The role supports Accelerate, our fast-turnaround steel detailing offering for simple to medium-complexity projects. You will be responsible for winning new clients, expanding existing relationships and growing this segment of our business.

This is a hands-on, field-based sales role. Success means a strong network in the steel fabrication and detailing community, a solid understanding of how detailing supports a fabricator’s schedule and costs, and the drive to open new doors and turn targets into long-term clients.

Key Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Client Relationship Building: Establish, maintain and grow fabricator relationships to secure repeat business and position Accelerate as their go-to detailing partner.
  • Solutions-Based Selling: Understand each client’s project mix, timelines and cost drivers, and show how our detailing services meet their needs.
  • Collaboration & Growth: Work closely with the business leadership, the estimating team and project management to scope opportunities, support proposals and ensure a smooth handover into delivery.
  • Cross-Segment Coordination: Collaborate with other North American sales team members to promote DBM Vircon’s broader services where appropriate.
  • Pipeline & CRM Management: Accurately input and maintain opportunities and client activity in Salesforce, ensuring timely updates and reliable data.
  • Account Planning: Lead account plans aimed at achieving sales targets, including revenue growth, pipeline expansion and client satisfaction.
  • Market Development: Represent DBM Vircon at client visits, fabricator associations, industry events and presentations to drive brand awareness and generate new opportunities.
  • Strategic Agility: Balance immediate project pursuits with long-term client and market development.

Work Experience

  • Minimum of five (5) years of related experience in steel detailing, steel fabrication or structural steel construction.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of B2B sales or business development experience, ideally selling steel detailing or related technical services to fabricators.
  • An established network within the North American steel fabrication community is highly beneficial.
  • Demonstrated success in business development, client management and sales growth.

Travel

  • This role covers Canada and the United States. It is anticipated that 30% - 50% travel will be required. Company credit card and corporate travel arrangement is provided.

Software & Technology

  • Frequent use of MS Office applications and sales/customer management systems.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce preferred.
  • Knowledge of steel detailing and modeling software (Tekla, AutoCAD, Bluebeam) is beneficial but not required.
