ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a Director of Venues for a landmark luxury hotel in Edmonton, Alberta. This is a senior restaurant leadership role for a passionate, entrepreneurial hospitality professional who brings creativity, commercial drive, and a genuine commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences. Reporting to the F&B leadership team, you will be responsible for the strategic and operational direction of the hotel's dining outlets.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure seamless outlet operations, driving innovative menus, promotions, and activations that enhance the guest experience and grow revenue
- Lead the recruitment, training, and development of the outlet team, creating a high-performance culture centred on guest satisfaction and service excellence
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to develop team capabilities
- Empower the team to resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally, maintaining the highest service standards
- Strategically position the dining outlets as a top choice within the local and national market
- Oversee outlet financial performance including adherence to labour, productivity, revenue, and expense guidelines
- Actively participate in budgeting and forecasting processes to align with broader hotel financial objectives
WHAT YOU BRING
- Proven senior management experience within a luxury restaurant or hotel dining environment
- Entrepreneurial mindset with strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills
- Track record of driving revenue and consistently achieving financial targets
- Strong understanding of luxury service standards and a commitment to exceptional guest experiences
- Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to inspire a diverse team
- Sound knowledge of the local culinary scene and current dining trends
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and restaurant management platforms
- Valid ProServe certification required; must be legally eligible to serve alcohol in Alberta
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada - visa sponsorship is not available
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or a related field preferred
