Who You Are

You will be the first point of contact for day-to-day IT at DealMaker. You will own the support ticket queue, keep our office and device infrastructure running, and grow into owning IT requests that carry security implications, helping keep us compliant and audit-ready. You report to the Director of IT & Information Security, who will coach you as you build hands-on experience across IT operations, security, and compliance.

What you'll do

Own the IT ticket queue, and act as the first point of contact for IT requests.
Troubleshoot office infrastructure and end-user issues across Mac and Windows devices
Grow into maintaining and owning IT requests with security implications
Help ensure systems meet compliance, security, and regulatory requirements, with guidance from the Director of IT & Information Security and the CTO
Bring security and compliance decisions to the Director with clear context, and learn how those calls get made
Maintain and build documentation so the work is repeatable and audit evidence is easy to find
Automate repeatable work to cut manual effort and errors

What skills you need

Early-career IT experience, such as help desk, IT support, a co-op, or an internship
Curious and eager to build skills in IT operations, security, and compliance
Comfortable troubleshooting macOS and Windows, Google Workspace, Slack and other enterprise tools
Skills or understanding of automation languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
Strong written communication and the habit of documenting your work
Good judgment about when to fix something and when to escalate
Problem solver who recognizes issues on their own and takes the first steps to fix them, without waiting to be asked
Organized and dependable on recurring work that nobody chases you for
Able to work from our Toronto office

Nice to have

Exposure to a ticketing tool such as Jira Service Management
Familiarity with MDM, SSO, or identity and access management concepts
Interest in security and compliance frameworks such as SOC 2
Relevant diploma, degree, or certification (CompTIA A+, Security+, or similar)
