Assistant Operations Manager
DelGate Logistics is looking for a reliable, hands-on Assistant Operations Manager to support our warehouse, fulfillment, transportation, and last-mile delivery operations.
This is a leadership role for someone who can keep a fast-paced operation organized, solve problems quickly, manage staff, and ensure clients receive excellent service.
Responsibilities
- Support the Operations Manager in overseeing daily warehouse and delivery operations
- Lead, train, and supervise warehouse staff, forklift operators, drivers, and temporary labour
- Coordinate receiving, inventory, picking, packing, shipping, container unloading, and outbound deliveries
- Ensure orders are processed accurately and within required service timelines
- Monitor productivity, labour allocation, warehouse capacity, and operational costs
- Maintain high standards for inventory accuracy, safety, cleanliness, and damage prevention
- Assist with scheduling staff, deliveries, equipment, and dock appointments
- Handle operational issues, customer escalations, and urgent delivery requirements
- Work closely with account management, dispatch, sales, and finance teams
- Use warehouse and transportation systems to review orders, inventory, reports, and performance
- Help improve processes and implement practical solutions as the business grows
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in warehouse, logistics, fulfillment, transportation, or operations management
- Experience supervising teams in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organization, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable using computers, spreadsheets, and warehouse management systems
- Forklift experience or certification is an asset
- Able to work on the warehouse floor and assist with operations when required
- Experience with e-commerce fulfillment, furniture delivery, or 3PL operations is a strong asset
- Must be dependable, proactive, detail-oriented, and able to take ownership
