Environmental & Release Lead
Location: Calgary, Canada | Onsite
- Lead environmental compliance, release management, and environmental protection activities for onsite operations in accordance with Canadian and Alberta regulations.
- Develop, implement, and maintain environmental management programs, procedures, standards, and compliance plans.
- Manage environmental releases, spills, and incidents, including immediate response, containment, investigation, reporting, and corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with applicable Alberta Environment and Protected Areas (AEPA) requirements, permits, approvals, and environmental legislation.
- Coordinate environmental monitoring, sampling, inspections, audits, and reporting to identify risks and maintain regulatory compliance.
- Act as the primary onsite environmental contact for internal teams, contractors, regulators, and other stakeholders.
- Lead incident investigations, root-cause analysis, lessons learned, and implementation of preventive and corrective measures.
- Review environmental risks associated with onsite activities, projects, and changes, and provide practical mitigation recommendations.
- Maintain accurate environmental records, regulatory documentation, release reports, permits, and compliance databases.
- Provide environmental leadership, training, and guidance to employees and contractors while promoting a strong environmental and safety culture.
