Role Description

The Planificateur et contrôleur des coûts (Project Controls) is a full-time, on-site role based in Montreal, QC. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining project schedules, updating progress, and coordinating planning activities with project managers, site supervisors, and engineering teams. The position includes preparing and monitoring cost estimates and budgets, tracking expenditures, analyzing variances, and producing regular cost and schedule performance reports.

The Project Controls professional will also manage the change management process, including identifying, documenting, and evaluating changes in scope, cost, and schedule, and preparing change orders in line with contract requirements. The role supports claims management by maintaining thorough records, analyzing delays and disruptions, quantifying their cost and schedule impacts, and assisting in the preparation and defense of claims.

In addition, the role supports risk analysis, identifies potential deviations, recommends corrective actions, and ensures alignment with contractual and internal requirements. Daily activities include maintaining accurate data in project control tools, collaborating with procurement and finance teams, and contributing to the continuous improvement of project control processes.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in project scheduling and planning (e.g., MS Project or Primavera P6), with the ability to develop, update, and analyze detailed construction schedules.

• Experience in cost control, budgeting, and cost forecasting, including variance analysis and reporting for infrastructure or construction projects.

• Experience in change management, including the evaluation and tracking of change orders and their impact on cost and schedule.

• Knowledge of claims management, including delay analysis, impact quantification, and supporting documentation for contractual claims.

• Proficiency with project control tools and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), with the ability to manage and interpret large sets of quantitative data.
