Original job description

As Manager, Medium-Term Financing, Treasury, you’re involved in the strategy and execution of Desjardins initiatives on the domestic and international markets. You play a leading role in analyzing, recommending, and implementing financing solutions to support the organization’s liquidity needs and growth ambitions. Specifically, you manage and use various medium-term funding programs, including the senior debt, covered bond and subordinated debt programs. Using your in-depth knowledge of capital markets, you analyze various financing options to help optimize the cost of funds, diversify sources of financing and broaden the organization’s investor base. You make recommendations on markets, currencies, structures, formats and the appropriate timing for issuances. You provide leadership and exert influence for highly complex and strategic initiatives. You serve as a resource person for management, the Treasury teams and numerous internal partners. You’re also required to interact with external partners, including brokers, investors, legal counsel and other financial market stakeholders. The nature of your responsibilities requires a thorough understanding of bond markets, issuance programs, and regulatory liquidity and capital constraints. Help prepare and execute financing operations, while coordinating the work with the relevant internal and external partners.
Monitor capital markets and analyze the impact of market conditions, interest rates, credit spreads and exchange rates on financing and hedging strategies.
Assess the impact of funding activities on regulatory liquidity and capital ratios, while ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory and operational requirements.
Act as a subject-matter expert to various stakeholders by providing strategic analyses and recommendations, while helping to continuously improve financing practices, tools and processes.
