As a market development manager at Desjardins Ontario Credit Union, you are responsible for the strategic and operational management of a dedicated team. You ensure the satisfaction of our members and clients by tending to their needs and expectations, and by establishing and maintaining long-term business relationships with members and clients from your line of business. You support Desjardins’s strategic directions by leading your department and developing its full market potential. You draw up and monitor a business plan that addresses priorities, challenges and objectives. You are responsible for your sector’s performance, sound and prudent risk management in accordance with established standards and tracking results. You draw on your ability to make sound decisions and drive results in a way that strengthens the effective management your department’s people and performance. You manage a team dedicated to members and clients by overseeing skills development and upholding high quality standards for the services offered. The ability to build effective teams and develop talent is therefore essential. You act as a coach for your team, providing personalized advice and recommendations that meet the needs of our members and clients. The nature and complexity of the files entrusted to your unit require deep and extensive knowledge of your field and detailed understanding of the organization as a whole. More specifically, you’ll be required to:
- Help your immediate supervisor develop business strategies in line with Desjardins’s strategic directions and the challenges of your unit.
- Maintain service quality and business relationships and oversee the member/client experience.
- Implement and monitor the action plan to meet target results.
- Establish management and communication practices that will help us attract and retain talent, improve our ability to work in teams and manage change in accordance with our cooperative values. Lead, coach and motivate your team to boost their skills, engagement and empowerment.
- Implement and develop a competitive, profitable service offer for your sector that incorporates partnerships with other components and elevates the member/client experience.
- Oversee efficiency, the continuous improvement of processes and the realization of benefits.
- Promote the Desjardins brand and strengthen the organization’s presence in the community.
- Promote Desjardins Group’s cooperative values.

What you bring to the table
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- A minimum of nine years of relevant experience
- Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
- Mutual fund representative certificate – Autorité des marchés financiers
- Strong communication skills in both French and English, both oral and written due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with english-speaking partners, members and/or clients
- Available to travel between all three service centres
