The Underwriting Department is currently seeking an underwriter who would like to contribute to our members’ and clients’ peace of mind by ensuring they’re well protected in the event of an unexpected situation. - Analyze medical, personal and financial information to assess the overall risk to the organization in accordance with applicable standards and practices.
- In the event of non-standard decisions, negotiate with reinsurers to find solutions to obtain the best possible decision for our members, clients and partners.
- Communicate in writing or by phone with stakeholders.
- Help develop operational processes and modifications to the sector’s computer systems.
- Make decisions and be able to justify them to members, clients and partners.

- Underwriting experience in individual life insurance
- Knowledge of underwriting standards and governance documents
- Knowledge of the healthcare sector
- Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
- Knowledge of French is required
- Advanced proficiency of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients

Responsibilities
Assess organizational risk by analyzing medical, personal, and financial information in accordance with underwriting standards, and negotiate with reinsurers on non-standard cases. Communicate and justify decisions to stakeholders, and contribute to operational process development and improvements to computer systems.
Requirements
The role requires experience in individual life insurance underwriting, knowledge of underwriting standards and governance documents, and knowledge of the healthcare sector; equivalent combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered. French is required, along with advanced English proficiency for work-related duties and interactions.
