Company Description

DEXD is a Human Experience Design consultancy based in Toronto, working at the intersection of customer experience, wayfinding and signage, environmental graphics, integrated art, and the built environment.

Our work spans complex public and institutional environments, including transit and transportation, healthcare, civic infrastructure, academic campuses, mixed-use developments, and public spaces. We collaborate closely with architects, engineers, consultants, clients, and project teams to translate human experience strategies into coordinated, buildable design solutions.

Role Description

DEXD is seeking a BIM Manager for a full-time, on-site position based in Toronto, ON.

The BIM Manager will establish, manage, and maintain DEXD’s BIM standards and digital coordination systems, ensuring that our wayfinding, signage, environmental graphic, and related design deliverables integrate accurately within multidisciplinary architectural and consultant environments.

The role is responsible for the consistency, reliability, and coordination of BIM workflows and model-based deliverables across multiple projects. The BIM Manager will work closely with designers, technologists, project managers, and external consultants to support efficient project delivery and resolve digital coordination issues.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain DEXD BIM standards, templates, modelling procedures, and digital workflows.
Interpret and implement project-specific BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), modelling standards, and digital delivery requirements.
Coordinate the integration of wayfinding, signage, and related DEXD design elements within architectural and consultant BIM models.
Develop and maintain Revit families, shared parameters, components, templates, and BIM content libraries.
Maintain consistency and accuracy between models, drawings, schedules, and associated project data.
Manage model sharing, file structures, interoperability, and digital exchanges with architects, engineers, consultants, and other project partners.
Review BIM environments and identify coordination conflicts, workflow issues, and data risks that may affect project delivery.
Support project teams in resolving BIM-related technical and coordination issues.
Provide technical guidance and support to project teams to promote consistent and efficient BIM practices.
Contribute to BIM-related QA/QC and ensure model-based deliverables meet project and submission requirements.

Qualifications

Strong proficiency in Revit and experience working within BIM-based architectural or multidisciplinary project environments.
Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, or maintaining BIM standards, templates, families, and workflows.
Strong understanding of BIM coordination, model management, shared parameters, schedules, and data integrity.
Experience interpreting and working with BIM Execution Plans (BEPs) and consultant BIM requirements.
Experience coordinating models and digital information with external architects, engineers, and multidisciplinary consultant teams.
Proficiency with AutoCAD and familiarity with BIM coordination and model review tools.
Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a high level of attention to accuracy and consistency.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage BIM requirements across multiple concurrent projects.
Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to provide technical guidance to designers and project teams.
Degree, diploma, or equivalent professional experience in Architecture, Architectural Technology, Engineering, BIM, or a related discipline.
Experience working on complex transportation, healthcare, civic, institutional, or other large multidisciplinary projects is considered an asset.
Experience with wayfinding, signage, environmental graphics, or specialty design coordination is considered an asset.
