Job Overview
We are seeking an Operations Officer to join a collaborative banking operations team in Mississauga. This is a 100% back-office position focused on high-volume transaction processing, data entry, information requests, and operational support.
The ideal candidate will have 2–4 years of experience in banking or financial services, strong attention to detail, experience working with Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced, compliance-regulated environment. Experience with bank wire processing is considered an asset.
Key Responsibilities
- Process high volumes of financial transactions and operational requests accurately and within established timelines.
- Support bank wire and money movement operations while following established procedures and controls.
- Receive and process information requests from government agencies, provincial authorities, and internal business partners.
- Review documents, validate information, and perform accurate data entry into internal systems and databases.
- Manage shared inbox requests and respond to inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Execute transactions in accordance with established guidelines, procedures, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Validate information and make authorized adjustments where required.
- Monitor and prioritize workloads to consistently meet service and productivity targets.
- Identify, investigate, and escalate processing issues, non-standard activities, and potential risks as appropriate.
- Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive and customer-related information.
- Follow applicable internal policies, operational procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Support process improvements and identify opportunities to enhance service delivery.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve operational issues and maintain service quality.
- Perform other operational and administrative duties as required.
Required Qualifications
- 2–4 years of experience in banking, financial services, or a related regulated environment.
- Experience working with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and strict deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new software and internal systems quickly.
- Proficiency in MS 365, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage high volumes of work while maintaining accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
- Self-motivated, accountable, and responsible approach to work.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Previous bank wire processing experience.
- Experience with financial transaction processing or money movement operations.
- Experience working in a compliance-regulated banking or financial services environment.
- Familiarity with operational risk, regulatory requirements, or financial controls.
