ServiceNow Systems Administrator V

Location: Toronto, ON

Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 2 days onsite currently

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM

Contract Duration: 12 months, with potential extension

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced ServiceNow Systems Administrator to support and enhance enterprise IT Service Management solutions within a large-scale technology environment.

This role requires a strong ServiceNow System Administration background, with particular emphasis on the ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) certification. The successful candidate will work across ServiceNow administration, integrations, application development, solution design, production support and technical troubleshooting.

This is specifically a ServiceNow Systems Administrator role - general Microsoft/Windows Systems Administrator experience will not meet the requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Administer and support enterprise ServiceNow IT Service Management (ITSM) solutions.
Design and implement ServiceNow solutions in accordance with established IT Service Management policies, standards and governance requirements.
Support ITSM processes including:
Incident Management
Problem Management
Change Management
Service Request Management
Ensure ServiceNow solutions align with risk, cost, control, compliance, governance and business-performance objectives.
Provide technical leadership and guidance across ServiceNow system integration and application development.
Work closely with clients, project managers and systems management teams to define requirements, scope and deliverables.
Provide accurate technical estimates for project scope, effort and delivery timelines.
Review technical artifacts and deliverables from vendor partners to ensure they meet solution requirements.
Participate in architecture, solution design and code reviews for ServiceNow implementations.
Troubleshoot production and testing issues and perform detailed root-cause analysis.
Recommend corrective actions and lead resolution of complex technical issues.
Support ServiceNow integrations with other enterprise systems.
Perform application configuration, administration and technical enhancements.
Support code deployments and releases across multiple ServiceNow instances.
Perform planned off-hours maintenance and production deployments.
Provide ongoing support to maintain ServiceNow availability and reliability.
Follow IT governance, security, compliance and change-management processes.
Promote ServiceNow development and administration best practices across the team.

Required Qualifications & Skills

5+ years of hands-on ServiceNow System Administration experience.
ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) certification – mandatory.
Strong experience administering and supporting the ServiceNow platform.
Experience with ServiceNow ITSM modules and processes.
Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
Experience supporting production and test environments.
Strong understanding of ServiceNow configuration, administration and deployment processes.
Experience working with technical teams, project managers, clients and vendors.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Ability to participate in an on-call rotation every other week, including evenings/weekends when required.
Post-secondary education in IT, Computer Science or a related field is preferred.

Nice-to-Have Skills

ServiceNow development experience.
ServiceNow scripting and customization experience.
Experience with ServiceNow integrations and enterprise system integration.
Experience with APIs and integration technologies.
ITIL 4 certification or strong knowledge of ITIL practices.
Previous experience in banking or financial services.
Experience with ServiceNow architecture and solution design.
Experience supporting multiple ServiceNow instances.
Experience with release management and production deployments.
Vendor management and technical deliverable review experience.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a ServiceNow Systems Administrator, not a general infrastructure or Microsoft Systems Administrator. They should have strong hands-on ServiceNow administration experience, hold the ServiceNow CSA certification, and be comfortable working across ITSM, integrations, troubleshooting, deployments and technical solution delivery.

Experience with ServiceNow development, integrations and ITIL 4 will be highly valued.
