Job Description

Responsible for preparing surfaces, and applying paint to these surfaces on residential housing units.

The Painter works independently or as part of a maintenance team and follows established safety, quality, and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

Surface Preparation

Prepare surfaces for painting by scraping, sanding, patching, filling holes and cracks, and removing old paint or wallpaper.
Clean and prepare surfaces including drywall, wood, concrete, plaster, and metal.
Apply primers and sealers as required.

Painting and Finishing

Apply paint, stains, varnishes, lacquers, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
Perform interior and exterior painting on residential units, garages, stairwells, and common areas.
Ensure proper colour matching and finishing standards.

Housing Maintenance Support

Support renovation and turnover of housing units between occupants.
Perform minor drywall repairs, caulking, and touch-ups as part of painting work.
Coordinate work with other trades (carpenters, plumbers, electricians).

Quality & Compliance

Ensure all work meets company standards.
Maintain clean and safe work areas.
Follow all workplace safety procedures.

Materials & Equipment

Maintain and properly use painting tools and equipment including sprayers, ladders, and scaffolding.
Track and manage paint inventory and materials.
Ensure proper storage and disposal of paints and solvents.

Le peintre est responsable d’effectuer des travaux de peinture et de finition intérieurs et extérieurs dans des unités de logement résidentiel. Le poste soutient les activités continues d’entretien préventif, de réparation et de remise à neuf des logements afin d’assurer des environnements de vie sécuritaires, fonctionnels et esthétiquement bien entretenus.

Le peintre travaille de façon autonome ou au sein d’une équipe d’entretien et respecte les normes établies en matière de sécurité, de qualité et d’exploitation.

Principales responsabilités

Préparation des surfaces

Préparer les surfaces à peindre en grattant, ponçant, colmatant, rebouchant les trous et fissures, et en retirant la peinture ou le papier peint existants
Nettoyer et préparer les surfaces, notamment le gypse, le bois, le béton, le plâtre et le métal
Appliquer des apprêts et des scellants, au besoin

Peinture et finition

Appliquer des peintures, teintures, vernis, laques et autres finis à l’aide de pinceaux, rouleaux ou d’équipement de pulvérisation
Effectuer des travaux de peinture intérieure et extérieure dans les unités résidentielles, garages, cages d’escalier et aires communes
Assurer un agencement adéquat des couleurs et le respect des normes de finition

Soutien à l’entretien des logements

Appuyer les travaux de rénovation et de remise en état des logements entre les occupants
Effectuer des réparations mineures de gypse, du calfeutrage et des retouches dans le cadre des travaux de peinture
Coordonner les travaux avec les autres corps de métier (charpentiers, plombiers, électriciens)

Qualité et conformité

S’assurer que tous les travaux respectent les normes de l’entreprise
Maintenir des zones de travail propres et sécuritaires
Respecter toutes les procédures de santé et sécurité au travail

Matériaux et équipement

Utiliser et entretenir adéquatement les outils et équipements de peinture, incluant les pulvérisateurs, échelles et échafaudages
Suivre et gérer l’inventaire de peinture et de matériaux
Assurer l’entreposage et l’élimination appropriés des peintures et solvants
