Platrix is an early-stage Canadian AI-powered B2B decision engine built specifically for independent restaurants, cafes, and bakeries. Platrix operates as a full standalone POS or connecting seamlessly as an intelligent add-on to existing systems (TouchBistro, Square, Lightspeed) to optimize perishable inventory, prevent food waste, and automate dynamic delivery promotions with 1-click mobile approvals.

We are backed by the Spring Activator startup network and are currently preparing our launch pilots across Metro Vancouver.

The Role: What You'll Do

We don’t believe in spamming restaurant managers with cold emails or LinkedIn messages. Independent restaurant owners and chefs are on the floor every day.

As our Market Discovery & Pilot Scout, you will be our primary field representative on the ground. You will visit target commercial corridors, engage restaurant managers and chefs during their afternoon prep window, run concise operational discovery conversations, and qualify locations for Platrix’s free 30-day pilot program.

Key Responsibilities:

• Canvass Target Restaurant Neighborhoods: Walk into 15–20 independent restaurants, cafes, and bakeries each week during the afternoon window (2:00 PM – 4:30 PM).
• Conduct 5-Minute Discovery Chats: Use our structured, conversational framework to learn about their daily operational pain points (e.g., current POS system, slow-hour sales, food waste management, delivery app headaches).
• Showcase the Platrix Concept: Show owners a simple, interactive 1-page demonstration on a tablet/phone showing how 1-tap dynamic combos and automated food rescue work.
• Build Our Pilot Pipeline: Capture owner contact details, gauge interest level, and qualify venues for our upcoming 30-day free pilot launch.
• Log Findings & Debrief: Enter structured survey notes into our CRM/tracker and participate in a weekly strategic debrief with Platrix’s founding team (CEO & Head of Business Development).

Who You Are (Candidate Profile)

• 1+ years of Restaurant/Hospitality Experience: You’ve worked in food & beverage (as a server, barista, bartender, line cook, or shift lead) and understand how restaurant kitchens and managers operate.
• Outgoing & Empathetic: You feel comfortable striking up warm, polite, and authentic conversations with business owners. You have thick skin and respect the restaurant rhythm (you never bother a chef during a dinner rush).
• Direct Communicator: Comfortable walking into venues unannounced, introducing yourself with confidence, and conducting polite, respectful, and disarming business conversations.
• Organized & Observant: You take clear, structured notes and notice operational details (what POS terminal is at the counter, which items sit unsold in the bakery display).
• Self-Motivated: Capable of working autonomously in the field while maintaining consistent logging accuracy and meeting weekly corridor coverage targets.
• Bilingual Advantage (English / Vietnamese): While business English is required, conversational or fluent Vietnamese is considered an added asset. Phase 1 field discovery and pilot onboarding will heavily target Vietnamese-owned F&B establishments, where bilingual communication is critical for conducting on-site operational chats.

What We Offer You

• Guaranteed Base Pay: $18.00 – $20.00 / hour.

• Ultimate Schedule Flexibility: Field visits happen between 2:00 PM and 4:30 PM on weekdays (Tuesday through Thursday are best) - easily fitting around university lectures or other commitments.
