DHL Express currently has an opening for a Casual Warehouse position in our Halifax, NS location.
Shift: On call basis
Wage: $20.72/hour and will increase as per the CBA
How will you contribute?
- Scan freight as per agreed procedures
- Organize and sort all freight to appropriate routes
- Move freight within the warehouse area as per requirements
- Accurately sort & process, by deadlines, in-bound material.
- Assist Tracing Department with thorough warehouse checks for missorts, on-hands, etc.
- Participate in the organization and clean-up of the warehouse area.
- Participate in maintaining a safe and co-operative work environment
- Perform Front Counter Duties
- Perform HIC duties
- Perform accurate reporting
- Other warehouse duties as assigned by the shift supervisor.
- Ability to lift and carry parcels, up to and including 70 lbs per piece, throughout shift.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and on-time within tight time constraints.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Meet security requirements
- Broad general working knowledge of warehouse functions.
- High School Diploma
- Valid Class 5 drivers license is nice to have

Responsibilities
Scan, sort, organize, and move freight within the warehouse, processing inbound materials accurately and by deadlines. Support tracing and front-counter duties, maintain a clean and safe work area, perform accurate reporting, and complete other assigned warehouse tasks.
Requirements
Applicants must be able to lift and carry parcels weighing up to 70 pounds throughout a shift and work effectively, punctually, and collaboratively under tight time constraints. A broad working knowledge of warehouse functions and the ability to meet security requirements are expected; a high school diploma is specified, and a valid Class 5 driver's license is an asset.
