DHL Express currently has an opening for a Part Time Warehouse position in our Halifax, NS location.

Shift: Monday to Friday 6am-11am

Wage: $20.72/hour and will increase as per the CBA

How will you contribute?

Complete assigned deliveries and pick ups and/or other tasks assigned by supervisor
Vehicle pre-trip and post-trip inspections
Scan freight as per agreed procedures
Organize and sort all freight to appropriate routes
Move freight within the warehouse area as per requirements
Accurately sort & process, by deadlines, in-bound material.
Assist Tracing Department with thorough warehouse checks for missorts, on-hands, etc.
Participate in the organization and clean-up of the warehouse area.
Participate in maintaining a safe and co-operative work environment

Perform Front Counter Duties
Perform HIC duties
Perform accurate reporting
Other warehouse duties as assigned by the shift supervisor.

Do you have what it takes?

Ability to lift and carry parcels, up to and including 70 lbs per piece, throughout shift.
Forklift certificate
Demonstrated ability to work effectively and on-time within tight time constraints.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Meet security requirements
Broad general working knowledge of warehouse functions.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with the DHL operations system.
High School Diploma
Ability to obtain Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) as per Transport Canada guidelines.
Valid Class 5 drivers licence

Responsibilities

Sort, scan, process, and move freight in the warehouse, organizing shipments for appropriate routes and meeting deadlines. Perform assigned deliveries or pickups, vehicle inspections, front counter and HIC duties, warehouse checks, reporting, and warehouse cleanup while maintaining a safe work environment.

Requirements

Applicants must be able to lift and carry parcels weighing up to 70 pounds, hold a forklift certificate and a valid Class 5 driver's licence, and have a high school diploma. They should be reliable under tight time constraints, work effectively in a team, meet security requirements, and be able to obtain a Restricted Area Identity Card; warehouse and DHL operations system knowledge are also requested.
