Original job description

About Dialpad
Dialpad is the AI platform for customer experience, built to resolve customer problems in real time across voice and digital. Our AI agents learn from your best human agents and improve with every interaction, helping organizations understand their customers, deliver better experiences, increase operational efficiencies, and build a lasting competitive advantage.

Unlike legacy systems built to route and answer, or standalone agentic bot vendors built to deflect, Dialpad was built to resolve. Our AI agents and human agents operate on a single platform with shared context, allowing Agentic AI to resolve issues, advance deals, and eliminate busywork through automation while seamlessly handing conversations to humans when needed, with full context preserved.

Market-leading brands, including Randstad, Motorola Solutions, Netflix, the San Diego Padres, the Colorado Rockies Baseball Club, and Cal Athletics, trust Dialpad. Dialpad is backed by Andreessen Horowitz, GV, ICONIQ Capital, and T-Mobile.

Being a Dialer
At Dialpad, AI isn’t just a feature; it’s how our teams do their best work every day. We put powerful AI tools in every employee’s hands so they can move faster, think bigger, and achieve more.

We believe every conversation matters. And we’ve built the platform that turns those conversations into insight and action, for our customers and ourselves.

We look for people who are intensely curious and hold themselves to a high bar. Our ambition is significant, and achieving it requires a team that operates at the highest level. We seek individuals who embody our core traits: Scrappy, Curious, Optimistic, Persistent, and Empathetic.

About the team

Dialpad's Contact Center QA team owns the quality of the AI-driven services behind our customer engagement platform. We validate that complex features like AI Routing, Digital Agents, and real-time Analytics are genuinely enterprise-grade in scale, reliability, and performance. And we go further, working cross-functionally and across projects, collaborating closely with developers and product managers to ensure every customer interaction is smooth, responsive, and delightful.

Your role

As a Senior Software Developer in Test (SDET) in the Contact Center QA team, you're both a skilled developer who builds elegant, scalable test frameworks and a quality advocate who leads a team to optimal customer outcomes. You write the API, UI, capacity, security, and performance tests necessary to validate features work as expected. You build the instrumentation that makes non-deterministic AI behavior testable in the first place. Most importantly, you own quality for products and features end-to-end, keeping communications flawless for the banks, hospitals, veterinarians, and other businesses that trust Dialpad with every conversation.

What you’ll do

Plan and implement functional, regression, and end-to-end tests at the UI, API, and database levels
Develop, execute, and analyze test runs for the capacity of microservices and performance of key product scenarios
Own the test strategy for Dialpad’s latest AI Contact Center systems such as AI Routing, Digital Agent workflows, and Agentic Analytics
Leverage agentic coding tools to generate test cases and build test software
Provide detailed failure analysis to facilitate speedy product and test fixes
Define the KPIs that matter and communicate results across teams and business stakeholders
Participate in design discussions and reviews, addressing edge cases and inserting test hooks before development even begins
Write reliable, maintainable code and find creative, scalable solutions to hard problems
Mentor other engineers while staying on top of test and software development best practices

What you’ll bring

Relevant software development experience (typically 6+ years), preferably including building test automation frameworks for SaaS applications.
Strong programming expertise in any top language, such as Python or Java
Strong experience designing and building scalable test automation frameworks
Extensive use of AI coding agents for test generation and optimization
Polished written and verbal communication skills in English
Comfortable communicating cross-functionally and with teams in different geographies
Prior experience applying different testing methodologies, including functional, integration, load, and performance testing
Deep familiarity with cloud technologies, including the testing of REST services
Experience injecting tests in CI pipelines
Proficiency in AI-driven evaluation methodologies, eval harnesses for non-deterministic systems, or validating enterprise-scale data infrastructure is helpful

Technologies we use

Google Cloud Platform (GCP) including Cloud Run (GCR), Kubernetes (GKE, k8s) and Compute Engine (GCE)
Python, Javascript, Go, Vue, GitHub, Qase, Jira
Pytest, Playright, REST Assured, Selenium
