Overview

We are currently seeking a Municipal Engineering Project Manager to join either our Water Wastewater or Linear Municipal Infrastructure team. Our team specializes in the strategy and technical execution of water, wastewater, and municipal infrastructure projects that shape our communities.

This is a new position and is based at our Winnipeg, Fredericton, Saint John or Halifax office. We offer flexible work hours and hybrid work arrangement options to help balance the competing demands of work and personal life.

Responsibilities

About the Position

Project Management and Design

Lead the strategy and drive the execution of high-value engineering solutions that position our firm as the premier technical partner for complex projects.
Diversify by collaborating with internal experts across environmental science, planning, and management to deliver holistic solutions that go beyond standard engineering.
Project manage and deliver preliminary and detailed designs for municipal and industrial infrastructure projects related to treatment facilities and pumping stations.
Coordinate design team activities, direction to project team members including junior engineers and technical support staff, and ongoing support to client relationship managers.
Liaise with public and private sector clients, government review and approval agencies, sub-consultants and subcontractors.
Liaison with multidisciplinary project teams (including transportation, municipal and structural engineers, transportation systems planners, planners, environmental scientists and technical support staff).
We empower our teams to automate the routine so they can focus on high-value, creative problem-solving. You will be encouraged to experiment with AI-enabled tools to push the boundaries of traditional design.

Sustainable Business Development

Proactively seek and cultivate new, long-term business opportunities that align with our sustainability goals and drive responsible growth, including submissions responding to requests for proposals, preparation of proposals and statements of qualification.
Provide strategic leadership in strengthening and expanding existing client relationships, with a focus on long-term partnerships and developing strong, value-driven proposals and statements of qualification.
Travel to other Dillon offices as needed to support collaboration, share knowledge, and drive growth across the firm.

Learning & Development

Commit to self-development and ongoing learning and professional development.
Input to the career development of junior staff, including technical direction, training recommendations, coaching and mentoring.
Contribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees.

Qualifications

Licensed to practice as a professional engineer in your field or eligible to register.
A degree in civil, environmental or chemical engineering.
Proven expertise in water wastewater, developed through 10+ years of experience in consulting or related fields, with a track record of technical leadership.
Proven project management capabilities.

Experience

Demonstrated success in client and business development with private sector accounts. Focus in the manufacturing sector considered an asset.
Experienced in the assessment and design of treatment processes for small and large-scale water and wastewater treatment facilities.
Experience with industrial site water and wastewater management is an asset including characterization (water balance, flow and quality), water conservation, water reuse, wastewater segregation, and pollution prevention planning.
Proficient in the full range of design activities including preparation of functional and detailed design drawings and reports, contract document preparation, tendering, construction administration and commissioning.
Ability to lead, coach and develop Account Managers.
Thorough knowledge of relevant Canadian federal and provincial regulations.
Working knowledge of emerging technologies for water and wastewater treatment.
Proficient in project proposal preparation and presentations.
In-depth understanding of business issues associated with consulting engineering and planning.
