Description
We are seeking a Platform Engineer with strong experience in Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Kubernetes platform engineering, and deployment automation to support the implementation of a modern gateway and application platform.
This role will be responsible for deploying, configuring, and optimizing platform components in AKS, and for building the supporting CI/CD pipelines and operational capabilities required for secure, scalable, and repeatable delivery. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on expertise in Kubernetes, AKS, gateway and traffic management platforms, deployment automation, observability, and DevSecOps practices.
Requirements
- Strong experience as a Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or Kubernetes-focused Infrastructure Engineer
- Proven hands-on experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
- Strong understanding of Kubernetes platform deployment, configuration, and operational support
- Experience deploying and managing gateway, ingress, service mesh, API management, or traffic management platforms in Kubernetes environments
- Experience supporting platforms that manage application or API traffic routing, control, and security
- Experience building end-to-end CI/CD pipelines for deployment, packaging, release automation, and lifecycle management
- Strong experience with deployment automation using Helm, Kubernetes manifests, templates, or similar tooling
- Experience with infrastructure as code such as Terraform, Bicep, ARM, or similar technologies
- Experience integrating security scanning and controls into CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows
- Experience implementing logging, monitoring, alerting, and observability for Kubernetes-based platforms
- Strong understanding of the infrastructure, networking, and operational components required to deploy and support a platform in AKS
- Ability to work independently and deliver platform capabilities from initial deployment through production readiness
Responsibilities
- Deploy and configure platform components in an AKS environment
- Optimize the platform for reliability, scalability, maintainability, and secure operations
- Build the full CI/CD pipeline to support packaging, deployment automation, release management, and security scanning
- Establish repeatable deployment standards and automation for Kubernetes-based platform components
- Integrate logging, monitoring, and operational visibility into the platform environment
- Ensure the platform is configured to support secure and scalable traffic management
- Support all platform engineering activities associated with deploying and operationalizing the platform in AKS
Ideal Background
- Experience in cloud platform engineering within Azure environments
- Strong Kubernetes administration and troubleshooting experience
- Experience with gateway, ingress, service mesh, or API management technologies
- Familiarity with modern platform requirements for high-volume, secure, and scalable traffic management
- Experience working across platform engineering, security, release engineering, and runtime operations
- Ability to define and implement a complete deployment and operational model with limited oversight
Preferred Skills
- Experience with enterprise-grade gateway or traffic management platforms
- Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar CI/CD tooling
- Familiarity with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Container Registry, Key Vault, or related Azure-native services
- Experience embedding DevSecOps practices into platform engineering workflows
- Strong troubleshooting skills across Kubernetes, networking, deployment pipelines, and observability tooling
