The Position

Move materials.

Key Responsibilities

  • Must be able to operate mobile equipment such as fork-lift’s and ditch digger
  • Must be able to pull chute on remote with 10 tonne loci
  • Must be able to perform chute blasting
  • Must be able to move personnel, material and explosives using 5 tonne loci
  • Must be able to perform track maintenance as required
  • Track Maintenance
  • Other duties as assigned by the Frontline Supervisor

Responsibilities

Move personnel, materials, and explosives underground using mobile equipment, including forklifts and 5- and 10-tonne locomotives. Operate remote chutes, perform chute blasting and track maintenance, and complete other duties assigned by the Frontline Supervisor.

Requirements

A high school diploma and an Underground Common Core Certificate are listed, along with some construction specialty modules. Relevant modules include blasting rock, operating lifting mechanisms and forklifts, underground haulage, oxyacetylene equipment, and backhoe operation.
