Original job description

Junior Sales Associate – Career Track

Are You at a Job - or Building a Career?

Maybe university wasn't your path. That's fine.

Maybe you're early in your career, working hard, but starting to wonder where your current job actually takes you.

Maybe you're watching AI change entire industries and thinking, I need to build skills that actually matter.

If you're great with people, detail-oriented, competitive, curious, and genuinely give a damn - keep reading.

Who We Are

We're Divine Flooring - one of Canada's largest manufacturer-direct flooring suppliers, but definitely not your typical flooring company.

We design and create our own products. We're fashion- and design-forward. We work with builders, designers, architects and some of the best people in the construction industry, and our products go into some of Calgary's coolest homes, communities and commercial projects.

We're looking for the next generation of people who want to learn this business and become great salespeople.

We're Not Looking for the Perfect Resume

You don't need a university degree. You don't need ten years of sales experience. You don't need to know anything about flooring.

We'll teach you.

What we can't teach as easily is attitude. We're looking for someone who:

Is a people person and can build genuine relationships
Does what they say they're going to do
Answers the phone when a customer calls - especially when it's a difficult call
Pays attention to the details
Isn't afraid to ask questions
Wants responsibility instead of avoiding it
Takes feedback without making excuses
Is willing to put in the time to become really good at something
Wants their income to eventually be determined by their ability, not a salary grid
Actually cares about doing a great job

If you're looking for the easiest job you can find, this probably isn't it.

If you want to learn from some of the best people in our industry, work around people who care about winning, and develop skills that can build a serious career, we should talk.

What You'll Actually Learn

You'll work alongside experienced Divine salespeople and learn the business from the ground up - how to read plans, measure projects, estimate jobs, understand construction, work with builders and designers, solve problems, manage customers, and eventually develop and manage accounts of your own.

You'll spend time in the office, on construction sites, with customers and with our different departments, learning how a project goes from an idea on a drawing to a finished space.

This isn't about fetching coffee for a salesperson. We're training you to become one.

You'll start by supporting our team with estimating, takeoffs, site measures, customer communication, project coordination and account support. As you prove yourself, we'll give you more responsibility - and when you're ready, you'll start building business of your own.

Where Can This Go?

That's largely up to you. We want someone who can progress through:

Learn the business → Support accounts → Manage accounts → Develop new business → Become a top-producing salesperson

Your compensation should grow with your contribution. You'll receive a competitive base salary while you're learning, plus performance incentives. As you develop into a revenue-producing sales role, you'll have the opportunity to earn substantially more through commission.

We don't want your ambition capped by your salary.

Why Divine?

Because construction isn't going anywhere. People will continue to build homes, renovate spaces, develop communities and create places where people live and work - and flooring will always be part of it.

At Divine, you'll also be surrounded by design. We create products, follow fashion and architectural trends, work with incredible designers and builders, and get to see the finished projects that started on our desks.

Most importantly, you'll learn a business and a skill set that can stay with you for the rest of your career.

What You Need

A high school diploma, a valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle
Sales or customer-service experience is great, but not mandatory
A degree is welcome, but not required

Ambition, work ethic, social skills, attention to detail and a willingness to learn matter more to us.

Compensation

Base Salary: $48,000–$52,000, plus performance incentives and commission

Our goal isn't to hire someone who wants to make $50,000 forever. We're looking for someone who wants to learn the business, prove themselves and eventually build a sales career where their earning potential looks very different than it did on day one.

Still Reading?

Good.

If something about this ad is pulling at you because you know you're capable of more than what you're doing today, send us your resume. Tell us why you think you'd be good at this.

You don't need the perfect background. You need the right attitude, a willingness to learn and the confidence to prove you belong here.

Come learn from the best. Build skills. Build relationships. Build a career.

Put your career on a different track.
