Reporting to the Head of Human Resources Canada, this role will provide a variety of opportunities as it supports the Human Resources team in payroll, benefits and HR administration.

Day to day
- Process full-cycle Canadian (multi-provincial) semi-monthly payroll for approximately 400 employees and U.S. (multi-state) bi-weekly payroll for approximately 1500 employees
- Lead payroll reconciliation activities for Canada and the U.S., including payroll registers, payroll funding/wires, payroll comparison reports, general ledger accounts, statutory remittances, benefit deductions, and payroll-to-HRIS data validation to ensure accuracy, compliance, and financial integrity.
- Maintain reconciliation documentation and audit trails while auditing employee master data, payroll interfaces, and benefit vendor files to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
- Analyze, calculate, and prepare payroll input data including, new hires, terminations, salary changes, vacation pay etc for payroll processing in Canada/U.S.
- Administer and maintain Short-Term Disability (STD) payments in accordance with company policies, procedures and ER input.
- Stay up to date with Canadian and U.S. payroll legislation, including CRA requirements, provincial regulations, FLSA, federal/state tax regulations, and applicable wage and hour laws.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, earnings, deductions, and related concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Manage payroll remittances and reconciliations for third-party organizations, government agencies, and regulatory bodies across Canada and the U.S., including pension contributions, RRSP deductions, garnishments, EHT, WSIB/WCB, CNESST, and other statutory deductions, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and legislative compliance.
- Verify, reconcile, and produce government documents such as Record of Employment (ROES), T4/T2200s and W-2 slips and other related year-end tax reports for both countries.
- Participate in payroll-related projects, process improvements, and other duties as assigned.

Essentials:
- College/post secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- 2+ years of end-to-end payroll administration or payroll specialist experience, including multi-provincial Canadian payroll and experience processing U.S. multi-state payroll supporting cross-border payroll operations.
- Benefits Administration and PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) designation are an asset
- Experience with payroll systems (Ceridian Dayforce, ADP, UKG, Workday, SAP, Oracle HCM, etc.)
- Advances proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Payroll and HRIS systems
- Demonstrated experience performing payroll reconciliations, account balancing, variance analysis, and audit support activities.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills with the ability to investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and data integrity issues.
- Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- This is a hybrid position with 2 days a week in the office

Applicable pay range
$65,000.00 - $72,000.00
Additional factors that may be used to determine your actual pay include your specific skills, years of relevant experience you possess, and other work-related qualifications. Many candidates may start in the bottom half of the applicable pay range, especially those with less experience or qualification.
This position is subject to the terms of DLL’s compensation plans and policies. Further, the position includes all other benefits provided to DLL employees, including healthcare benefits, vacation, sick leave, parental leave, possible discretionary bonuses, and all other benefits that are subject to eligibility.
