Summary

DMC is currently looking for an Intermediate Designer, Mechanical to join our team on a permanent basis, based in Vaughan, ON. The Intermediate Designer, Mechanical for designing and drafting mechanical systems for heavy industry and mining projects.

Responsibilities

Design and layout of mechanical/process equipment, including: conveyor systems, hoists, mechanical assembly drawing using 3D and 2D tools.
Proficiency in reading technical documentation – reviewing shop/manufacturing drawings.
Preparation of technical documentation using AutoCAD.
Production of technical documentation (2D drawings) based on previously prepared models.
Prepare and review drawings and designs to ensure standards of quality and accuracy are met.
Work and collaborate with other discipline teams.
Work in conjunction with engineers.
Create CAD drawings as per project/client requirements.
Coordinate with all disciplines on requirements for assigned area.
Desire to expand knowledge in the field of mining solutions.

Qualifications

A technical college graduation with two (2) to four (4) years of experience, or an equivalent combination of studies and related experience.
Mining / Heavy industrial Experience (Asset)
Working knowledge of AutoCAD/AutoCAD Plant 3D
Working knowledge of the Revit environment
Working knowledge of Database Driven CAD.
Working knowledge of the SolidWorks environment.
Familiarity with standards for creating technical documentation.
Proactive approach. Independence.
Able to write technical documents and specifications.
Advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Understanding of Engineering standards, codes, regulations and guidelines.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Willingness to solve unconventional problems, curiosity in designing solutions.
Strong organizational and planning skills.
Plus all other duties assigned.

Additional Information

Salary Range is expected to be between $79,000 to $101,000 + short-term incentive plan bonus
