Sales Manager - Southern California

Building Products - Distribution

Orange County, California

$150,000 to $180,000 base salary + bonus + vehicle + benefits + 401(k) matching + PTO

Are you an experienced people leader who knows how to get the best out of your sales team?

Can you coach and develop sales professionals, remove their roadblocks, help them identify new markets and opportunities, and build market share strategically?

This is a newly created Sales Manager opportunity with an established building products distributor in Orange County. You’ll inherit a strong group of Repos, a solid customer base, and the operational framework required to support the team.

The Opportunity

This is a true sales leadership role.

You’ll lead the existing team of outside sales reps, working shoulder to shoulder with them to improve performance, uncover opportunities and grow sales revenue across the market.

Some members of the team are highly experienced. Others are earlier in their careers and will benefit from coaching, structure and development. Your job is to understand what each person needs to perform at their best and help move the entire team forward.

You’ll support the team with key accounts and important customer relationships, but this is not a player-coach position. You will not be expected to directly manage or grow your own book of business. Your success comes through the performance and development of your people.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who understands traditional building products distribution and what really matters to the customer.

This isn’t about selling behind a glossy brand or relying on a product name to open doors. You understand the fundamentals of distribution: service, availability, delivery, responsiveness, relationships, product knowledge and making it easy for customers to do business with you.

You know why a contractor, dealer or building professional chooses one supplier over another. You understand that even long-standing customers need attention, and that market share is earned by consistently delivering value.

You’ll bring that understanding to the team, helping your reps become stronger commercial thinkers and better partners to their customers.

What You’ll Do

Lead, coach and develop the outside sales team
Drive revenue growth and market share through your people
Help reps identify new customers, markets and opportunities
Develop sales plans and hold the team accountable to execution
Work alongside reps in the field and provide practical coaching
Support key customer relationships when your involvement adds value
Partner closely with branch leadership, operations and internal sales
Identify opportunities to improve how the team approaches the market
Develop both experienced performers and emerging sales talent
