Original job description

Who We Are

You know those big cities that still feel like small towns? Where everyone’s friendly and helps each other out? That’s like Doane Grant Thornton. Except here we’re all professionals and there isn’t a mayor or a general store. What we’re trying to say is that we’re a large and growing professional services firm that still feels like a community. We employ about 3000 people across Canada, and we truly care about our colleagues, our clients and the communities where we work and live. That’s what’s most important to us. We’re building a thriving organization that’s purpose driven and still want to remember what your favourite milkshake flavour is.

Are you our new Learning Technology & Operations Manager

Are you energized by the opportunity to create a lasting impact to the digital learner experience? Are you passionate about data integrity, process optimization, and building and leading a stable and scalable learning technology landscape, all while unlocking your own potential through continuous learning and coaching? If so, keep reading. As the Learning Technology & Operations Manager, you’ll make a meaningful impact by helping to strengthen and evolve our core learning systems (LMS/LXP), ensuring system standards, integrations, and system operational processes deliver an exceptional colleague experience while supporting firm-wide business priorities.

As a Manager, Learning Systems your responsibilities will include:

Use your coaching mindset to inspire, lead, and develop a high performing team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and adherence to learning operations standards.
Ensure the L&D team is equipped with deep expertise of our core learning systems to consistently deliver a seamless digital learning experience.
Contribute to and maintain a multi year roadmap for our core learning systems that’s aligned with the L&D strategy, best practices, operational standards, and firm wide strategic priorities.
Serve as the subject matter expert on our core learning systems, leading and/or supporting initiatives that drive system adoption and continuous process improvement.
Leverage learning analytics, system data, and user feedback to identify opportunities, measure impact, and guide platform enhancement decisions.
Continuously optimize system workflows, automation, and configurations based on approved requirements, leveraging a strong process improvement mindset to enhance productivity and the user experience.
Lead approved system enhancements, feature deployments, configurations, and upgrades in alignment with best learning practices and an optimal learner experience.
Collaborate with IT to ensure learning system data is secure, stable, scalable, and governed through effective data governance practices.
Evolve and maintain operational governance and standards via system data structures, templates, workflows, and processes.
Take on or contribute to additional learning and development tasks and projects as assigned.

Doane Grant Thornton

If you’re a bit like us, you’re driven to connect with how others are feeling and thinking. Here we walk in others shoes before taking action. Just imagine being part of a team that puts “we before me”, where flexAbility is a mindset, and where you trust your colleagues to have your back. At Doane Grant Thornton, you’ll work with inspiring leaders who support your development, both personally and professionally. This is a place where your insatiable curiosity enables you to think, see and hear from a variety of perspectives, a place where every day is different and having the courage to grow is part of who you are. And when all this comes together, well that’s when the magic happens!
