Original job description

Dog and Pony Studios is an integrated creative and digital agency for B2B brands. Headquartered in Toronto, we operate as a hybrid team across Canada and South America. For 25+ years, we’ve partnered with some of the most influential organizations in the world to deliver work that drives businesses forward.

We’re seeking a Digital Project Manager with 5+ years of experience to join our team. As a Digital Project Manager, you work hand in hand with our accounts and production teams to activate and oversee digital web builds and support dockets from initiation to launch, developing estimates, project plans and workback schedules, triaging client requests, writing briefs, managing scope, maintaining production boards and facilitating client communications.

What you offer:

  • Digital project management experience: You know exactly what’s involved in producing, launching, and supporting enterprise websites, and how to coordinate the right team members at the right time to keep production flowing.
  • Growth mindset: You are an adaptive, fast-learning and naturally curious colleague interested in marketing best practices, our clients’ businesses, developing new skills and increasing your core competencies.
  • Accountability and ownership: You step up to the plate to overcome new challenges or solve any problem that stands in the way of success. Team members know they can rely on you to bring your best work forward and come to the table with a “how can we make this better” perspective.
  • Humbleness and maturity: You are interested in getting along with your colleagues and have a friendly approach to working with people within a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. You know how to give and accept feedback and are creatively resilient.
  • Meticulous organization and attention to detail: Your files are organized. Your communications are clear and concise. Your briefs contain all necessary information. You read over your emails one last time to ensure your meaning is clear, your tone is on point and there are no typos or grammatical errors.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand project objectives and requirements
  • Write actionable tasks and briefs; flag problematic client requests or production issues and recommend solutions
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules and budgets
  • Monitor project budgets, timelines, and resource utilization, and proactively communicate risks or budget impacts
  • Identify potential project risks and build contingency plans for mitigation
  • Identify changes to scope and coordinate the change management process
  • Engage with key stakeholders to ensure requirements are scoped and production teams briefed
  • Follow and support established project delivery processes and best practices
  • Facilitate communication between production teams and project stakeholders
  • Attend client meetings and prepare client meeting materials (agendas, briefs etc.). Write up meeting notes, decisions and action items, and update production/client boards
  • Manage communications across all project discussions, including following up on key decisions, action items and takeaways
  • Oversee project budgets, including reporting, and liaise with the internal finance team
  • Oversee and review project timesheets for accuracy and completeness in a timely manner

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of agency experience as a digital project manager. Candidates with a combination of relevant production experience will also be considered (e.g., UX designers, developers, etc.)
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree
  • Deep knowledge of the digital project management process and experience with digital web builds - from discovery and UX to design, development and deployment
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills with a demonstrated ability to interpret complex inputs, feedback, content or requirements into actionable tasks
  • Availability to work business hours in Eastern Standard Time and access to a quiet, modern work environment with a stable Internet connection
  • Superior skills working with WordPress, Contentful or similar content management systems, Google Workspace, and familiarity with project management tools such as Asana, Harvest and Excel
