Job Summary

Working within Dollarama’s Consolidation Import team, the Assistant Manager will support the Senior Import Manager in overseeing all aspects of the consolidation import operations. This role is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating daily activities to ensure shipments are arranged and processed in a timely, efficient, and cost-effective manner while maintaining high service standards.

Key Accountabilities

Build, lead, and maintain a high-performing team through effective recruitment, coaching, training, and development, ensuring the achievement of departmental objectives and supporting the company’s growth strategy;
Coordinate and oversee consolidation import shipments with the team to ensure timely, efficient, and cost-effective delivery by evaluating, planning, and implementing optimal transportation solutions;
Maintain strong working relationships and effective daily communication with vendors, agents, freight forwarders, and carriers to ensure seamless operations and workflow execution;
Develop, monitor, and manage team KPIs to ensure accurate reporting, increase performance visibility, measure operational effectiveness, and drive continuous improvement initiatives;
Proactively identify potential risks and operational challenges, providing early warnings, mitigating actions, and practical solutions to minimize disruptions;
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to identify and recommend process improvements, and implement solutions that enhance team efficiency and workflow effectiveness; and
Perform additional duties and special projects as required to support.

Job Requirements

Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain, Import, Transportation & Logistics, or in a similar field;
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in an import/export or shipping role, with at least one (1) to two (2) years of experience in a leadership capacity;
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop team members;
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
Knowledge of MS Office is required with proven Excel ability; and
Knowledge of SAP, an asset.
