Quality Operations Supervisor (day shift)
SCOPE
- Lead the inbound and outbound quality inspection functions.
- Conduct timely QA inspections and ensure adherence to the Vendor Class Program based on vendor performance and risk.
- Validate outbound shipments against customer orders.
- Train warehouse personnel on inspection requirements and procedures across all distribution models (e.g., stocked, flow through).
- Investigate and resolve all product packaging, and inbound quality non-conformances, coordinating with client to ensure timely closure.
- Maintain a robust program for segregation, quarantine, and hold of products impacted by quality issues, recalls, or compliance concerns.
- Identify and escalate products outside packaged date limits at inbound and quarantine thresholds at outbound to support optimal customer experience.
- Develop and update SOPs to maintain standardized quality documentation. File and archive all product documentation by lot and PO for compliance and traceability.
- Work with internal teams and client to investigate quality trends, conduct root‑cause analyses, and implement corrective and improvement actions.
- Ensure strict adherence to FIFO requirements to support product freshness and customer experience.
- Support and enhance monitoring programs for COA (Certificate of Analysis) validation, complaint management, compliance tracking, and quality insights.
- Validate COAs (Certificate of Analysis) and batch/lot records for incoming products to ensure compliance and quality.
- Participate in regular meetings with the DC team to review RTVs, rework requirements, and quality issues. Coordinate the DC, and client QA on approvals requiring RTV or rework.
- Partner with client QA, site Inbound Compliance team and destruction service providers to manage chain‑of‑custody requirements for product destruction to support regulatory reporting and anti‑diversion controls.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/COMPETENCIES
- Degree in a related scientific field (pharmaceutical, biotechnology, science, microbiology, biology) or equivalent education and experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in a Quality Assurance or Regulatory Affairs within food, cannabis, or pharmaceutical industry
- 2+ years of experience leading high-performing QA teams in Quality Assurance
- Strong experience managing quality systems and leading cross-functional projects preferred.
- Effective communication skills, including the ability to listen actively, comprehend information, and positively influence others.
- Ability to resolve conflicts in a calm, respectful, and professional manner.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Solid understanding of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and GDP (Good Distribution Practices) principles.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional environments.
- Strong time management, prioritization and organizational skills including oversight of multiple shifts.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and influence teams in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
