a passionate Manufacturing Engineer. This position reports to Operations Engineering Manager and will work in Vancouver, BC.
About The Position
Dometic Marine’s headquarters are in Vancouver, British Columbia in Canada. The facility develops and manufactures hydraulic, electronic, and combustion-based products.
As
Manufacturing Engineer of the Vancouver Team, you will provide engineering expertise in the development and implementation of manufacturing processes and custom production assembly/test equipment to provide a safe manufacturing environment that enables Dometic to achieve on time delivery of quality and cost effective products.
Your Main Responsibilities
- Lead the development of core manufacturing quality and risk-management documents
- Assess and define production assembly and test process/equipment requirements, and define corresponding budgets and schedules
- Design, source, build, validate, and implement equipment and processes into production
- Prepare documentation for production equipment - drawings, schematics, work instructions, calibration procedures, maintenance plans, etc
- Champion new product launch and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support production equipment uptime

A suitable background would be a solid experience with the following qualifications and experiences:
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical or Automation Engineering
- 5+ years in the development of automated equipment
- Experienced with all aspects of custom equipment development & integration including mechanical design and the selection/integration of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical/ sensor technologies.
- Strong 3D CAD modelling/drawing skills (Creo). Experienced with GD&T.
- PLC programming experience and proven ability to select/integrate sensors and controls with DAQ/ PLC systems, as well as wire basic low voltage electrical panels.
- Excellent hands-on skills and a strong mechanical aptitude.
