The location in Port Alberni, BC is seeking talent to fill the position of Red Seal Millwright. This job is permanent and full-time.

Job Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

Performing mechanical repairs to machinery and plant support systems, including all rotating and stationary equipment.
Working with preventative maintenance programs and documenting accurate maintenance records.
Working with a wide array of precision tools, including computerized alignment equipment.
Ability to read and interpret machine drawings.

Key Skills:

Dedicated to safety, proactive support of efforts to create a culture of safety excellence.
Effective communicator to other departments.
Utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Commitment to working within and creating a safe and healthy work environment.
Team player who can work as part of a team or in an independent setting.
Computer skills and assets.
Respond to production calls during downtime.
Communicate updates to supervisor to maintain goals.

Required Professional Experience/Qualifications:

Red Seal certification.
3 to 5 years’ experience in related industrial environment.
An uncompromising approach to safety.
Ability to work in a team or independently.
Available for mill 12 hour operational shift schedules.

Salary rate: $48.66 per hour as per the Collective Agreement.
