Donna Cona Inc. is currently seeking an Integration Data Modeler, Level 3, for one of our key clients. This posting is for an incorporated contract engagement and is not an employment position.
Candidate MUST Have The Following
- A valid security clearance at the level of Secret;
- More than five (5) years of experience in Data Modeling (Conceptual, Logical, and Physical modeling);
- Proven experience designing and owning a Canonical Data Model in a multi-system integration environment;
- Strong understanding of Enterprise Data Model (EDM) concepts and experience aligning solution-level models to an enterprise standard;
- Hands-on experience modeling Salesforce data structures (objects, fields, relationships, standard/custom schema);
- Experience with middleware/integration platforms, specifically Red Hat Camel / Apache Camel microservices, including message schema design (JSON/XML/Avro) for canonical exchange models;
- Experience modeling for Azure Fabric (or broader Azure data platform: Synapse, Data Lake, Azure SQL) as a target data environment;
- Strong knowledge of integration patterns (canonical data model pattern, message routing, transformation, ESB/microservices-based integration);
- Proficiency with data modeling tools (e.g., Erwin, ER/Studio, Power Designer, or similar);
- Solid understanding of API/interface contract design - schema definition, versioning, and governance;
- Strong grasp of data normalization, entity relationships, and master/reference data concepts;
- Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills - ability to work across Salesforce, middleware, and cloud data teams; and
- Strong documentation skills, ability to produce clear data dictionaries, mapping specs, and model diagrams for technical and non-technical audiences.
Candidate Should Have The Following Demonstrated Experience
- Owning and governing the Canonical Data Model (CDM) end-to-end - design, documentation, versioning, and lifecycle management;
- Designing Canonical Exchange Models representing the data contracts/interfaces exchanged between the Red Hat Camel middleware layer and Azure Fabric targets;
- Translating business and functional requirements into logical and physical data models that are middleware- and platform-agnostic wherever possible;
- Ensuring the CDM and exchange models align with and extend the Enterprise Data Model (EDM), maintaining consistency in naming conventions, entity definitions, and relationships across domains;
- Defining and maintaining data mapping documents (source-to-canonical, canonical-to-target) including transformation and enrichment rules;
- Establishing and enforcing data modeling standards, naming conventions, and governance practices across all interfacing systems;
- Identifying shared/common entities across multiple source systems to maximize model reusability and minimize redundant integrations;
- Supporting schema versioning and backward compatibility strategies for canonical exchange contracts (e.g., JSON Schema, XSD, Avro);
- Partnering with Data Governance/Architecture teams to ensure compliance with enterprise metadata, lineage, and data quality standards;
- Reviewing and validating integration designs from a data modeling perspective, identifying gaps, inconsistencies, or deviations from the canonical/enterprise model;
- Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation: ER diagrams, data dictionaries, canonical schema catalogs, and interface specifications; and
- Providing guidance and acting as SME (Subject Matter Expert) for data modeling queries across project teams.
