Original job description

About the Team

DoorDash is looking for top talent to play a pivotal role in growing our New Verticals business in Canada! We are looking for someone who is excited about joining a fast-paced environment and driving our next wave of growth.

About the Role

We are hiring an Associate onto our New Verticals Strategy & Operations team to grow our Grocery, Convenience, Alcohol and Retail businesses across Canada. About half of your time will focus on Retail, the category with the most headroom in our business. Rather than owning a single category, you will support three growth levers across all of New Verticals: search, customer relationship management (CRM) and catalog quality. You will identify where customers can't find what they're looking for on-platform, flag or fix hygiene issues in the customer experience, and build the dashboards that tell us where to look next. You will partner with marketing, product and merchant teams to turn those insights into campaigns and experiments. This role requires a mix of hard and soft skills: data analysis & visualization, business intelligence, project management and stakeholder management. The right candidate is extremely detail-oriented, organized and comfortable working through large datasets to find the ground truth. You will use AI to work faster and make better decisions. We operate in a hybrid model: we prioritize getting our teams together in person once a quarter, and you have the flexibility to work from home or the office on most days! You are required to be based in Toronto or Vancouver and will overlap with cross-functional stakeholders across North America. You will report into a Senior Manager on the team and be an individual contributor.

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…

Analyze. You’ll dig into search, catalog and customer data to find the ground truth, and build dashboards that turn it into clear priorities
Build. You’ll have your fingerprints on how customers shop DoorDash’s next big businesses: what they search for, what drives their behaviour, and how to use the tools at your disposal to create a smooth path to purchase. This means everything from planning to nitty-gritty operational details
Experiment. Launch on-platform tests and consult on CRM campaigns, read the results, and scale what works. Embrace the challenge of having multiple paths forward and no right answer
Collaborate. You will work cross-functionally with marketing, CRM, product, merchant strategy & operations, account management, analytics and so many more!

We’re excited about you because…

You like data. You let data win arguments, and you’re comfortable pulling and modeling large datasets. You are excited to use (or learn) SQL in your role
You sweat the details. You can work through thousands of rows of catalog or search data without losing the thread, and you catch the error others miss
You’re an operator. You turn direction into action, own your deliverables to deadline, and convert insights into repeatable processes
You’re curious about how people shop. You have a point of view on what makes a shopping experience easy or frustrating, online or in-store
You’re unafraid of uncharted territory. Rapid change and learning is exciting to you, and you excel in new environments
You use AI to work smarter. You use (or are eager to learn) tools like Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini to speed up analysis and workflows
You have 1-3+ years of experience in operations, technology, consulting, strategy, business development, banking, analytics, e-commerce, high-growth or early-stage startup experience or related experience
You have a completed Bachelor’s Degree

Compensation

Actual compensation within the pay range listed below will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location. Base salary is localized according to employee work location.

DoorDash cares about you and your overall well-being. That’s why we offer a comprehensive benefits package for all regular employees, that includes paid time off, paid parental leave, wellness benefit and several paid holidays.

Additionally, for full-time employees, DoorDash offers medical, dental, and vision benefits, disability and basic life insurance, an RRSP including an employer match, and a mental health program, among others.

The base pay for this position ranges from our lowest geographical market up to our highest geographical market within British Columbia.

$86,500 - $108,000 CAD

About DoorDash

At DoorDash, our mission to empower local economies shapes how our team members move quickly, learn, and reiterate in order to make impactful decisions that display empathy for our range of users - from Dashers to merchant partners to consumers. We are a technology and logistics company that started by enabling door-to-door delivery, and we are looking for team members who can help us go from a company that is known as the place you order food to a company that people turn to for any and all goods.

DoorDash is growing rapidly and changing constantly, which gives our team members the opportunity to share their unique perspectives, solve new challenges, and own their careers. We're committed to supporting employees’ happiness, healthiness, and overall well-being by providing comprehensive benefits and perks including premium healthcare, wellness expense reimbursement, paid parental leave and more.

Our Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion

We’re committed to growing and empowering a more inclusive community within our company, industry, and cities.
