Original job description

About the Team

The Finance & Strategy team is responsible for accelerating the growth of our business by identifying and implementing new opportunities and solutions. We partner with teams across the company to improve the profitability, scalability, and defensibility of our business model. We combine financial rigor with an operator's mindset, working alongside business leaders to identify opportunities, solve complex problems, and drive meaningful outcomes. We are looking for people who can model the future, challenge conventional thinking, and help carry projects from conception through execution.

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Associate to support DoorDash Drive, our white-label delivery fulfillment business. Drive enables merchants to offer delivery through their own channels, and we're expanding our capabilities to help merchants grow their businesses through differentiated logistics, technology, and customer engagement solutions.

In this role, you'll partner cross-functionally with Strategy & Operations, Sales, and other Finance teams to support financial planning, evaluate growth opportunities, and improve the profitability of the business. You'll help manage Drive's P&L, prepare materials for business reviews, and provide financial insights and recommendations to business leadership. Another important aspect of the role will be improving financial models, processes, and reporting as the business continues to scale.

This role is hybrid in Toronto with some time expected in-office and some time remote.

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…

Support DoorDash Drive, a growing business that combines white-label delivery fulfillment with technology and solutions that help merchants grow their own channels.
Track business performance, identify trends, and make recommendations on tradeoffs between growth and profitability across our core restaurant delivery business and emerging growth opportunities.
Partner with Strategy & Operations and Sales teams to evaluate new growth opportunities, strategic investments, and merchant partnerships.
Support financial analysis for new merchant deals and renegotiations, evaluating pricing, unit economics, and long-term profitability.
Analyze historical business performance, including delivery volume, revenue, and contribution margin, to identify trends and inform business decisions.
Develop financial forecasts for future quarters, annual operating plans, and long-range planning using financial models and analytical tools.
Work cross-functionally with Finance, Strategy & Operations, Product, Analytics, and business leadership to evaluate opportunities and drive informed decisions.
Partner with Accounting to analyze historical P&L performance, support month-end close, and ensure financial accuracy.
Identify, build, and maintain scalable financial models, reporting tools, and processes.

We’re excited about you because…

You have 4+ years of relevant experience in finance, strategy, consulting, investment banking, or a related analytical role.
You have exceptional financial modeling and analytical skills, with the ability to build robust, driver-based models that inform business decisions.
You think like an operator, not just an analyst - you understand the business behind the numbers and proactively identify opportunities to improve performance.
You have strong business judgment and are comfortable forming independent perspectives, challenging assumptions, and making recommendations in ambiguous situations.
You can collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners at all levels, building strong relationships while constructively challenging ideas.
You are comfortable working with large datasets and leveraging analytical tools, AI, and automation to solve problems and improve processes.
You demonstrate ownership, intellectual curiosity, and a willingness to challenge the status quo to drive meaningful outcomes.

Compensation

Actual compensation within the pay range listed below will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location. Base salary is localized according to employee work location.

In addition to base salary, the compensation for this role includes opportunities for equity grants. Talk to your recruiter for more information.

DoorDash cares about you and your overall well-being. That’s why we offer a comprehensive benefits package for all regular employees, that includes paid time off, paid parental leave, wellness benefit and several paid holidays.

Additionally, for full-time employees, DoorDash offers medical, dental, and vision benefits, disability and basic life insurance, an RRSP including an employer match, and a mental health program, among others.

About DoorDash

We are a technology and logistics company that started by enabling door-to-door delivery, and we are looking for team members who can help us go from a company that is known as the place you order food to a company that people turn to for any and all goods.

DoorDash is growing rapidly and changing constantly, which gives our team members the opportunity to share their unique perspectives, solve new challenges, and own their careers. We're committed to supporting employees’ happiness, healthiness, and overall well-being by providing comprehensive benefits and perks including premium healthcare, wellness expense reimbursement, paid parental leave and more.
