Position Title: Account Manager

Reports To: President

Employment Type: Full-time, permanent, in office

Location: Windsor, Ontario

Compensation: $65,000 - $75,000 per year, plus benefits

About Douglas Marketing Group:

We're a marketing agency with offices in Windsor, Ontario and Troy, Michigan. There are about 20 of us: strategists, designers, developers and account managers who build websites, run ad campaigns and SEO, and create content for clients in Canada and the U.S. We care about doing great work and about the people we do it for.

Position Summary:

We're looking for an Account Manager to look after our clients and help them grow. You'll be the main point of contact for your accounts: the person who understands their business, plans their marketing with them and makes sure our team delivers. The job involves a lot of client service and problem-solving, along with real input into marketing strategy and planning.

You'll work closely with our creative, digital and production teams, briefing them, keeping projects on track and bringing work back to clients for approval. If you like building relationships and keeping a lot of moving parts in order, you'll fit right in.

Client Relations & Account Management:

  • Be the main contact for your clients and build strong, long-term relationships with them.
  • Plan and carry out marketing programs that support each client's goals and marketing plans.
  • Provide strategy and creative planning for your clients.
  • Brief the DMG team, follow the work through to delivery, and follow up with clients.
  • Manage creative approvals between clients and the internal team.
  • Prepare RFP responses, proposals, estimates and client presentations.
  • Meet with suppliers to get quotes and information.
  • Manage budgets and billing for your clients, including estimates, purchase authorizations and invoicing details.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Write client communications and copy, and develop press releases as needed.
  • Plan marketing strategies and see them through implementation, execution and follow-up.
  • Develop and coordinate campaigns and individual marketing projects.
  • Keep your projects organized and up to date in our project management system.
  • Plan and run special events.
  • Interpret and analyze research and campaign data.
  • Report on campaign results and recommend what to do next.
  • Make sure creative stays true to each client's brand.

Accountability:

  • Accurate, on-time scheduling keeps clients happy and coming back.
  • Good working relationships with print reps and suppliers keep work orders moving.
  • Professional, responsive communication builds client trust.
  • Strong client relationships lead to repeat business.
  • Represent Douglas Marketing Group well with every client and partner.
  • Track your time accurately against client projects so we can bill correctly.

Employment Requirements:

  • College diploma or university degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or a related field.
  • 5+ years of account management experience, ideally at an agency.
  • A solid understanding of marketing communications, both digital and traditional.
  • Strong presentation, writing and communication skills.
  • Project management skills and the ability to juggle several clients at once.
  • Comfortable working with budgets, estimates and billing.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working with clients in both Canada and the U.S.
  • Familiarity with digital advertising, SEO, social media and website projects.
  • Experience with project and time tracking tools such as Airtable, Harvest or Paymo.
  • Event planning experience.
  • Experience writing RFP responses.

How You Work:

  • You're a self-starter who doesn't wait to be told what's next.
  • You lead projects and people with confidence.
  • You think strategically and analytically.
  • You understand how our creative, digital and production teams work, and you work well with all of them.
  • You're happy working on your own and with the team.
  • You're curious about technology, emerging media and creative.

What We Offer:

  • A varied client list across industries in Canada and the U.S.
  • Real input into the strategy behind your clients' marketing.
  • A strong team of designers, developers and digital specialists behind you.
  • A steady, long-term job with a friendly team.
  • Additional benefits, vacation and other perks
