Original job description

About Draganfly:

Draganfly Inc. (the “Company”) has been a recognized technology leader within the commercial UAV space for over two decades. We helped establish the commercial market & adoption of multi-rotor helicopters for public safety, agriculture, aerial imaging, & more. As a leader who helped shape the industry, Draganfly’s focus is on the sale of drone products and services, contract engineering & custom integration product development, and health monitoring products and services.

About The Role:

Reporting to the Controller, the Accounting Clerk supports day-to-day expense administration by processing expense reports, reviewing Float activity, following up on missing documentation, and coding transactions in the ERP and Melon. Working closely with employees and the Finance team, this role ensures records are complete and accurate, follows established procedures, and escalates discrepancies or policy exceptions for review.

Key Responsibilities:

Expense processing and follow-up

Process employee expense reports and review submissions for accuracy, completeness, policy compliance, and required documentation.
Review Float transactions and follow up with employees on missing receipts, unclear descriptions, discrepancies, or corrections.
Track unresolved items and escalate policy exceptions or questions requiring Finance review.

Finance and expense inbox

Monitor the shared finance or expense inbox, respond to routine questions, and organize incoming requests.
Follow up on outstanding documentation and maintain clear correspondence on request status and next steps.

Transaction coding and records

Apply accurate account, cost centre, and project codes, and enter transactions in the ERP and Melon according to company procedures.
Maintain organized digital records and a clear audit trail of supporting documentation, corrections, follow-up, and escalations.
Protect confidential financial and employee information and use approved systems and information-handling practices.

Accuracy and process improvement

Communicate discrepancies and unresolved items to Finance and seek guidance when coding or documentation is unclear.
Support consistent expense practices and suggest practical improvements to routine processes.

Who are you really?

You notice missing information and small discrepancies, and take care to get the details right.
You keep expense records, inbox requests and follow-up organized as priorities shift.
You communicate clearly and respectfully when requesting receipts, descriptions or corrections.
You are dependable and follow through on outstanding items rather than losing track of them.
You know when to seek guidance and escalate an exception instead of making an unsupported decision.
You work constructively with employees and Finance to keep routine expense administration moving.
You treat financial and employee information with discretion and welcome practical process improvements.

Qualifications

Relevant education in accounting or bookkeeping, or equivalent practical experience.
Basic bookkeeping knowledge and an understanding of expense classification and coding.
Accurate data-entry skills and strong attention to supporting documentation.
Clear written and verbal communication, including tactful employee follow-up.
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and Microsoft 365 tools.
Organization, sound prioritization and the ability to handle confidential information.
Ability to use an ERP and learn Float, Melon and company expense procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience processing employee expense reports or reviewing transaction documentation.
Experience monitoring a shared inbox and coordinating documentation follow-up.
Familiarity with Float or Melon.
Experience entering and coding transactions in an ERP.
Experience maintaining organized digital financial records.

Compensation package:

Competitive salary: $58,000 - $60,000 CAD
Equity / Stock Options: Participation in the company’s stock option plan, providing long‑term ownership and alignment with company growth.
Comprehensive medical and dental benefits, including a Health Spending Account (HSA).
Matching RRSP program to support long‑term financial planning.
Generous time‑off program, including vacation, wellness days, and the full week off between Christmas and New Year’s.
Professional development support, including assistance toward obtaining your FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate or equivalent training required for operational roles.

Why Join Us

At Draganfly Innovations, you’ll join a collaborative team that values innovation, curiosity, and continuous improvement. We’re in an exciting growth phase, scaling our technologies, product lines, and teams as we continue to shape the future of UAV innovation. Joining us now means becoming part of a company with deep roots in the industry - and bold ambitions for what comes next.

You’ll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact, work on diverse and cutting edge projects, and grow your skills alongside passionate experts. We offer competitive compensation, strong benefits, and a supportive environment where your contributions truly matter. Here, you won’t just join a company - you’ll help build what comes next.

As part of our hiring process, all candidates must successfully complete reference checks and a criminal background check.
