Staff Accountant

Location: London, Ontario (On-Site)

Work Type: Permanent

Salary: $70,000 - $90,000 + RRSP Matching

Vacancy: Existing Vacancy

This Staff Accountant role is ideal for a professional who enjoys working in a hands-on accounting environment, solving day-to-day financial and operational challenges, and supporting multiple accounting functions within a growing organization. The right person will recognize this role as a natural next step if they have experience in payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory accounting, and month-end accounting activities.

Why This Role

This role offers broad exposure across the accounting function, the opportunity to work closely with operations and leadership teams, and the chance to further develop full-cycle accounting skills. Unlike many accounting roles that focus on a single area, this position provides hands-on involvement in payroll, AR, AP, inventory accounting, reconciliations, reporting, and process improvement initiatives.

The Role: Staff Accountant

In this role, you will spend most of your time managing payroll activities, supporting accounts receivable and accounts payable processes, maintaining inventory accounting records, and assisting with month-end close activities. You will work closely with operations, procurement, human resources, and finance leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting and efficient accounting processes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Processing weekly payroll and maintaining payroll records
  • Managing accounts receivable, collections, customer payments, and aging reports
  • Processing accounts payable and maintaining vendor records
  • Supporting inventory accounting, reconciliations, and transaction accuracy
  • Preparing journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Assisting with month-end and year-end close activities
  • Supporting audits and responding to audit requests
  • Participating in process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and accuracy

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 2–4 years of accounting experience with exposure to payroll, AR, AP, and inventory accounting
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, internal controls, and financial processes
  • Experience using accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Benefits & Environment

Benefits for this role include competitive compensation, RRSP matching, extended health and dental coverage, vision care, life insurance, and an employee assistance program. You'll join a collaborative team environment that values accuracy, accountability, continuous improvement, and professional development while providing exposure to multiple areas of accounting and business operations.
