We’re hiring: Equipment Trading Manager – Transformers & Switchgear

Westgrid Power, a Driftwood Communications company, is building something new in Western Canada.

With transformer lead times stretching years and demand for quality reconditioned electrical equipment continuing to grow, Westgrid buys, sells and brokers transformers and switchgear for utilities, contractors, industrial customers and infrastructure projects across Western Canada and beyond.

We’re looking for an experienced Equipment Trading Manager to help lead that growth.

This is not a traditional sales role.

You’ll own deals from beginning to end: sourcing equipment, assessing value and condition, developing supplier relationships, responding to inbound opportunities, preparing quotes, negotiating and closing transactions, and coordinating freight, rigging and reconditioning partners.

We’re particularly interested in people who have experience in electrical equipment, industrial machinery, utility surplus, auctions, electrical distribution or equipment brokerage, and who understand how to evaluate equipment and recognize a good deal.

You may currently be:

• An equipment buyer or trader

• An electrical equipment sales representative

• An electrical wholesaler or branch manager

• An independent broker

• A utility or industrial equipment specialist

• An experienced industry professional looking for the opportunity to build something from the ground up

Location: Victoria, BC, with Vancouver Island or Lower Mainland candidates considered

Employment: Full-time or contract

Compensation: Base salary or contractor structure plus a meaningful share of gross profit on completed deals. You’ll have the backing and infrastructure of Driftwood Communications while helping build Westgrid’s trading operation from the ground up.
