Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) / Quality Engineering Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in architecting cloud-native test automation frameworks, performance engineering, and CI/CD quality gates and a proven ability to drive global quality engineering strategy for multi-tier, low-latency trading platforms.

Responsibilities:

• Design and build next-generation, cloud-native test automation frameworks using Core Java and BDD/TDD principles.
• Enable true in-sprint automation for UI, microservices, and streaming pipelines through shift-left quality practices.
• Evaluate and integrate AI/ML-assisted testing solutions for synthetic data, self-healing automation, and test impact analysis.
• Architect API and microservice testing for REST, gRPC, WebSockets, and Kafka with contract testing approaches.
• Build data validation frameworks for complex financial data pipelines across SQL and NoSQL stores.
• Define non-functional testing strategies for load, stress, spike, endurance, and latency benchmarking.
• Analyze performance bottlenecks and recommend optimizations across application and infrastructure layers.
• Implement resilience and chaos engineering practices in cloud and containerized environments.
• Embed automated quality gates into CI/CD pipelines across Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
• Define metrics and dashboards for quality analytics, coverage, defect leakage, and efficiency.
• Provide technical leadership and governance to global SDET and QE teams across regions.
• Establish coding standards, code review policies, and reusable testing assets.
• Collaborate with Product, Architecture, and Engineering for test planning, release coordination, and risk assessment.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 8–12+ years in software development and quality engineering, including 3+ years as Lead/Principal SDET or QA Architect.
• Domain experience in Financial Services, Capital Markets, FinTech, or low-latency trading platforms.
• Expert Core Java, including collections, multithreading, concurrency, and design patterns.
• Proven delivery of scalable test frameworks from the ground up using Cucumber BDD and TestNG/JUnit.
• Deep API and service testing with Rest Assured, Postman/Newman, WireMock, and contract testing.
• UI automation with Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, or Cypress using POM or Screenplay patterns.
• Performance testing with JMeter or Gatling and strong profiling of system capacity limits.
• Advanced SQL and automated data validation for Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
• CI/CD integration using Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Tekton, Harness, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Hands-on exposure to AI-assisted testing, LLM-driven test generation, and self-healing automation.

Preferred Skills:

• Prior experience as a Software Engineer with Java/Spring Boot.
• Event-driven architectures and messaging with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or IBM MQ.
• Contract testing with Pact and familiarity with service mesh patterns.
• Cloud-native platforms such as AWS, GCP, OpenShift, or Kubernetes.
• Security testing fundamentals and DAST/SAST pipeline integration.

Education & Certifications:

• Bachelor’s or master’s in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
• ISTQB Advanced, Certified Software Test Architect, AWS or GCP certifications, Java SE Professional.
