IT Infrastructure Engineer

DSEL is seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer to support, maintain, and enhance the company’s on-premises and cloud infrastructure. This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, performance, and availability of core IT systems, including Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server, virtualization, backup, networking, security, and endpoint management platforms. The successful candidate will provide advanced technical support, contribute to infrastructure projects, and support the ongoing improvement of DSEL’s IT environment.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and related infrastructure.
• Manage Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Microsoft Entra ID.
• Administer Microsoft Azure resources, including virtual machines, storage, networking, identity, and access controls.
• Support hybrid identity, Multi-Factor Authentication, Single Sign-On, Conditional Access, and directory synchronization.
• Manage VMware and Microsoft Hyper-V virtual environments.
• Administer Backup & Replication, monitor backup jobs, and perform recovery and restore testing.
• Configure and support firewalls, VPNs, remote access, and network security policies.
• Administer patch management, software deployment, MDM, and endpoint administration.
• Troubleshoot complex server, network, cloud, application, and infrastructure issues.
• Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for escalated technical incidents.
• Monitor infrastructure performance, availability, capacity, security, and overall system health.
• Support infrastructure upgrades, migrations, cloud initiatives, and technology projects.
• Develop PowerShell scripts and automation to improve operational efficiency.
• Maintain technical documentation, system diagrams, procedures, and disaster recovery documentation.
• Support IT security initiatives, vulnerability remediation, access management, audits, and SOC 2 compliance activities.
• Assist with storage and enterprise infrastructure, including NAS and SAN environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, or a similar technical role.
• Proven experience supporting or delivering IT infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server environments and enterprise networking concepts.
• Hands-on experience with Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, Azure, VMware, Hyper-V, firewalls, VPNs, patch management, MDM, and endpoint management tools.
• Experience with cloud and virtualization technologies, including Azure and AWS.
• Experience with infrastructure monitoring tools such as PRTG, SolarWinds, or similar platforms.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and technical projects.
• Willingness to occasionally work evenings or weekends for maintenance, upgrades, or critical infrastructure issues.
