Original job description

DSEL’s Construction Administration department is a skilled team of dedicated professionals who manage projects through the various phases of construction. The Project Coordinator regularly communicates and coordinates with clients, contractors, consultants, municipal staff, and other project professionals to facilitate the successful progression of projects.

The Project Coordinator plays an instrumental role within the Construction Administration team, providing support to the Project Manager, Junior Project Manager, and other contract administration staff. The coordinator is responsible for maintaining and strengthening client, contractor, consultant, and municipal relationships while ensuring effective communication and coordination throughout the project.

The Project Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day coordination and administration activities associated with the various phases of construction, from initial approvals and construction commencement through to project completion and handover to the municipality.

What You’ll Do:

· Prepare written communications, including emails, payment certifications to aid in coordinating construction with external project professionals

· Gather, compile, and review project-specific information

· Monitor and review quality of all DSEL field reports from Inspectors

· Monitor conformance with project schedules

· Prepare cost sharing claims

· Coordinate and attend construction meetings

· Prepare preliminary cost estimates (high level)

· Prepare tender documents and analysis

· Monitor client securities and reductions

· Prepare grading analysis and reports

· Timely approval of progress certificates

· Coordinate start / end of U/G and A/G maintenance and assumption with municipalities

· Responsibility for conformance with all approvals

· Responsible for meeting deadlines as assigned and agreed

· Oversee as-built drawings and document preparation

· Oversee as-built data / info for earthworks quantity verification

· Coordinate with DSEL’s internal staff as necessary to complete project coordination tasks

· Expedite circulation and submission of time-sensitive information and deliverables

· Assist with the review of construction handover packages for new projects from PA

· Support the project management team and communicate with external project professionals

· Independently-monitor assigned tasks and provide updates through to task completion

What will help you succeed in this role:

· Graduate/Licensed professional engineer or certified engineering technologist, Civil discipline.

· Proven ability to solve problems and to communicate ideas clearly in a technical and non-technical manner, both written and verbally

· Above-average knowledge and abilities in Word and Excel

· Strong interpersonal skills and enjoy working in a team environment

Requirements:

· Valid class G driver's license

· Reliable vehicle

Reporting to: Contract Administration -Project Manager Employment type: Permanent; Full-Time (36-hours per week); in person with remote flexibility.
