GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
Provide day-to-day leadership and direction to Print Manufacturing employees, ensuring production work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to established quality standards. Act as a key communication link between employees, Team Leaders, and department leadership while supporting employee performance, operational priorities, and Continuous Improvement (CI).
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide day-to-day leadership and direction to production employees, clearly communicating priorities, expectations, and changes in work requirements.
- Promote, consistently apply, and comply with Company policies and procedures.
- Address employee concerns and performance issues promptly and fairly, with appropriate documentation and follow-up.
- Support the IPP (Improved Performance Program) and other performance management processes by providing coaching, feedback, recognition, and input to department leadership.
- Maintain clear and timely communication between employees, Team Leaders, Supervisors, and department leadership, including effective shift handovers and follow-up on outstanding issues.
- Monitor daily production priorities and progress, help remove barriers, and ensure required production information and records are completed accurately and on time.
- Lead and participate in scheduled meetings, team huddles, and other department communications.
- Promote a safe work environment and ensure employees follow established safety rules, procedures, and safe work practices.
- Ensure workplace incidents, injuries, first aid occurrences, and safety concerns are responded to and reported in accordance with Company procedures.
- Ensure attendance and call-in documentation is completed and follow up on attendance concerns as required.
- Maintain a strong focus on quality by monitoring work, addressing concerns, and working with employees to prevent recurring issues.
- Support and promote Continuous Improvement (CI) by encouraging employee involvement, identifying opportunities for improvement, helping implement changes, and supporting the sustainability of improvements.
- Support employee onboarding, training, cross-training, and ongoing development to help build capability within the department.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, respectful communication, and a positive work environment.
- Stay current on department communications and complete required updates in Company systems and communication platforms.
- Assist with department materials, supplies, and other operational needs as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach employees, provide feedback, and support accountability.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and respectfully at all levels.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced production environment.
- Good judgment and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, make timely decisions, and escalate concerns when appropriate.
- A collaborative, improvement-focused mindset and a willingness to support and lead Continuous Improvement (CI) activities.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of the department leadership team.
- Comfortable using computers and standard business applications, including Microsoft Office and Company production/communication systems.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, to support safe operations and workplace communication.
EDUCATION, TRAINING and EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a leadership role within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Post-secondary education or supervisory/leadership training is considered an asset.
- Experience with employee coaching, performance management, workplace safety, and Continuous Improvement (CI) is considered an asset.
- Previous experience training or developing employees is considered an asset.
SHIFT: Evenings, Monday to Friday from 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm
