Role Description This full-time, on-site Construction Miner role is based in Timmins, ON and involves supporting underground mine construction activities. On a day-to-day basis, Construction Miners perform tasks such as drilling, blasting, ground support installation, excavation, and development of underground headings according to project plans and safety standards. The role includes operating and assisting with underground equipment, building and maintaining mine infrastructure (such as ventilation, utilities, and access ways), and supporting production crews as needed. Construction Miners are expected to follow all safety procedures, participate in safety meetings and inspections, complete required documentation, and communicate effectively with supervisors and team members. The position also requires working shifts, adapting to changing work conditions, and contributing to a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Practical underground mining and construction skills, including experience with drilling, blasting, ground support installation, and underground excavation.
• Ability to safely operate or work around underground mining equipment such as loaders, jumbos, bolters, and utility vehicles.
• Strong understanding of mine safety practices, hazard recognition, and adherence to occupational health and safety regulations.
• Physical ability to perform demanding work in an underground environment, including lifting, standing, and working in confined spaces.
• Effective teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to follow instructions, report issues, and collaborate with diverse crews.
• Basic problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to respond to changing ground conditions and operational challenges.
• Previous experience in underground mining, tunneling, or heavy construction is an asset.
• Relevant certifications such as Common Core modules, WHMIS, First Aid/CPR, and equipment-specific training are beneficial.
