Original job description

For over 30 years, Durabuilt Windows & Doors has been a family-owned manufacturing and distribution leader, growing to approximately 800 employees with locations across Western Canada. As we continue to evolve our IT landscape to modernize core systems and support business operations, we are scaling our technology initiatives to match our ambition.
We are looking for an experienced IT Project Manager to lead business critical technology projects and help establish practical, scalable project management standards across our growing organization.

What You’ll Do

You will own day-to-day project delivery, bringing clarity to responsibilities, driving accountability, and ensuring alignment across HR, Payroll, Finance, Operations, IT, and external implementation partners.
Drive High-Impact Projects: Your initial focus will be leading a major SaaS HCM and payroll implementation from initiation to go-live and stabilization, with future priorities including ERP selection and implementation.
Control Scope, Schedule & Budget: Establish approved baselines, monitor financial commitments and forecasts, manage change requests, and maintain proactive risk and issue tracking.
Manage Vendors & Partners: Hold external implementation partners and vendors accountable to statements of work, milestones, deliverables, and quality standards.
Lead Business Readiness: Coordinate cross-functional workstreams - including data migration, integrations, testing, user training, parallel payroll runs, and cutover planning - ensuring frontline employees and operational schedules are fully supported.
Shape Governance: Introduce reusable templates, clear decision rights, escalation thresholds, and concise leadership reporting (weekly updates and steering committee summaries).

What You Bring

Experience: 5+ years of IT project management experience, with a proven track record of leading at least one enterprise system implementation (such as HCM, payroll, or ERP) through go-live and stabilization.
Core Competencies: Practical expertise in managing scope, schedules, budgets, risk mitigation, and complex stakeholder environments spanning business teams, technical specialists and external vendors.
Experience implementing SaaS HCM or payroll systems (Dayforce experience is a strong asset).
Background working in a manufacturing or operational environment with frontline employees.
Familiarity with ERP evaluation and vendor selection.
Professional certifications such as PMP or PRINCE2.
Attributes: Sound judgment, strong follow-through, and the ability to influence delivery and establish structure in an environment where project management practices are still maturing. Proficiency with tools like Microsoft Project or Smartsheet.

Our Core Values
At Durabuilt, our culture is driven by how we work, grow and collaborate:

Innovative: Think ahead to stay ahead. Practice continuous improvement because small things matter.
Driver: Stay hungry, act with urgency, and move quickly.
Ownership: No excuses. 100% accountability. Act responsibly, stay committed, and stay lean.
Caring: For employees, partners, and the community. Show respect and remain humble.
Individual: We work with great people, expect a lot from them, challenge ideas openly and value diversity.

Why Join Us?

High Visibility & Impact: Lead meaningful enterprise initiatives from the ground up, starting with HCM and payroll, with a direct pathway to contribute to future ERP selection and implementation.
Shape the Function: Help define how IT projects are planned, governed, and delivered in a growing, forward-looking manufacturing business.
Collaborative Culture: Work alongside a supportive and collaborative IT team that values knowledge-sharing, process improvement, and cross-functional success.

Are you ready to drive transformation and build structure where it matters most? Apply today to help shape the future of technology at Durabuilt!
