Senior Software Engineer
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer who will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing in-house software applications that are critical to business operations and widely used within the industry. The position plays a key role in delivering high-quality software solutions, improving existing systems through modern development practices, and supporting the introduction of innovative products and AI-enabled capabilities. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain software applications using established development methodologies and best practices.
- Enhance and extend existing products, systems, and applications to improve functionality, performance, scalability, and user experience.
- Develop new software products and features aligned with business requirements and strategic objectives.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools, such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, ChatGPT, or similar technologies, to increase development efficiency while maintaining code quality and security standards.
- Identify opportunities to incorporate AI and machine learning capabilities into products and solutions where they deliver measurable business value.
- Maintain and support in-house systems, applications, codebases, and client integrations.
- Prepare, update, and maintain technical documentation relating to software development, system operations, and maintenance activities.
- Collaborate effectively with technical leads, developers, and stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
- Participate in architecture discussions, solution design reviews, peer code reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Promote responsible use of AI-generated code by applying appropriate review, testing, and governance practices.
- Partner with other developers to share knowledge, development best practices, and AI-assisted programming techniques.
- Continuously evaluate and adopt modern tools, technologies, and development practices to improve team effectiveness and software quality.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Proficiency in ASP.NET / .NET Core MVC application development.
- Strong programming skills in C# and/or VB.NET.
- Experience with web-related technologies including HTML, XML, CSS, JSON, JavaScript, and jQuery.
- Relational database knowledge and experience working with SQL and Oracle databases.
- Conceptual understanding and application of SOLID design principles.
- Experience using Entity Framework for application and database development.
- Knowledge of coding for web services, including REST and SOAP APIs.
- Demonstrated proficiency with AI-powered development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, ChatGPT, or similar technologies, with a strong interest in keeping current with the evolving AI tooling landscape.
- Comfort integrating AI/LLM capabilities into applications through APIs and related technologies is considered a strong asset.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Commitment to continuous learning, innovation, and adopting modern development practices and technologies.
- Relevant post-secondary education, degree, diploma, NVQ, or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French.

In line with the amended Employment Standards Act 2000, the salary range for this role is: $125K - $135K, dependent on assessment of skills during the interview process.
