Company Profile

Dynacast Peterborough is known for its multi-slide technology, standard die casting with integrated automation, and IMA (Injected Metal Assembly) precision zinc manufacturing. IMA offers a unique process where precision tooling is combined with metal alloys and is used to join multiple components into a ready-to-use assembly with a single operation. Dynacast Peterborough is dedicated to designing, building, manufacturing, and delivering quality die cast components. Below are additional details about what is offered at the Peterborough location:

40 multi-slide proprietary zinc die casting machines ranging from 12 to 21 tons
Five multi-slide proprietary zinc die casting machines ranging from 70 to 200 tons
Injected Metal Assembly (IMA) up to one ton
Precision tool building with in-house capabilities
Design, prototyping, and modeling services
Wide range of finishing surfaces available including tumbling, polishing, shot blasting and thermal de-burring
Cosmetic or protective coating equipment either through certified suppliers or in-house
Wide range of secondary operations including CNC machining, tapping, reaming, and drilling

About the Role:

Responsible for the planning, organizing, and scheduling of production and zinc inventories in a manner that effectively utilizes resources, and maintains a high level of on-time delivery and customer service.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Develop Rough Cut capacity plans, manpower plans, and machine allocations based on forecast and actual business;
Maintain shop calendar, department, work center and machine planning parameters;
Undertake Sales and Operations plan meetings with key customers in a timely and ongoing basis;
Involvement in corrective actions as required;
Publishes appropriate measures and charts;
Monitors & updates Inventory Planning parameters, i.e. Order Policy, Order Period, Time Fence, Safety Stock, etc.;
Monitors activities of Production Schedule, and helps resolve conflicts as required;
Schedules all Casting Machines, and coordinates Tool Room schedules accordingly;
Participates in contract review, and APQP activities, and coordinates the introduction of new products;
Participates in the ongoing improvements to the manufacturing system;
Provides new and revisions to IATF policies, procedures and desk instructions as required;
Resolve conflicts as required;
Reconciles and performs adjustments of WIP and Finished Goods Inventory;
Sets up new parts, Bills of Materials, Routings and Production Lines in QAD business system;
Backs up shift supervisors on End of Runs; and
Manages Capacity Resource Planning (QAD).

Experience:

Customer service oriented, with above average communication skills, capable of communicating with all levels of the organization;
Above average analytical and problem solving skills;
Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with a heavy workload;
Sense of urgency required;
Working knowledge of QAD or other MRP system (preferred) and Microsoft office products (Excel, Outlook);
Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision;
University or College graduate in Business, Engineering or Materials Management preferred;
3-5 years Scheduling and/or Materials Management experience, in a manufacturing environment.
