Original job description

Company Description

At Ironbelly Studios, we’re working on a next-generation fantasy hero collector RPG game built in Unity for mobile and desktop. With 200+ characters planned at launch, we’re bringing depth and fresh gameplay to fans of the genre.

We’re looking for a highly experienced UI/UX Director to define and lead the player experience as the project moves toward Early Access, launch, and ongoing live operations.

You will shape how players understand, navigate, and engage with the game, turning complex RPG systems into intuitive, rewarding experiences. You will also set the interface’s visual and interaction standards, ensuring usability and visual quality work together across platforms.

Job Description

QA Test for revolutionary FPS . Join industry veterans in building tournament-grade multiplayer with true player ownership | Montreal hybrid | Break things that matter!

🚀 This Isn't Just Another QA Role

Join 20+ industry veterans (300+ delivered projects) building the FPS that's rewriting gaming's rules. We're creating tournament-grade multiplayer systems where players truly own their achievements - and we need someone who breaks things beautifully.

Why This Role Hits Different 🎮

You'll be the guardian of quality for a revolutionary FPS that combines:

Hardcore competitive gameplay that demands perfection
True digital economies where every bug could impact real player value
Tournament-grade systems built by devs from gaming's biggest franchises
Gameplay-first philosophy with sustainable player-owned economies

This is your chance to shape something genuinely new in gaming - not just another battle royale clone.

💼 You Will:

Break & Perfect Core Systems:

Execute structured test plans across gameplay, UI, and multiplayer systems
Stress test networking and matchmaking under real-world tournament conditions
Identify, log, and track bugs with detailed, reproducible steps that engineers actually thank you for

Shape Competitive Excellence:

Validate weapon systems, ballistics, and hit registration at pro-player standards
Test complex inventory, loot spawning, and persistence systems that underpin player economies
Ensure AI behaviors and pathfinding meet competitive integrity requirements

Drive Quality Culture:

Collaborate directly with engineers, designers, and artists to validate fixes
Provide structured feedback that improves balance, usability, and player experience
Contribute to evolving QA processes for a live-service competitive title

Qualifications

🎯 We're Looking For:

Must-Haves:

2+ years professional QA experience in games (PC/console preferred)
Strong understanding of QA methodologies, bug tracking, and test case design
Experience testing multiplayer shooters or competitive titles
Familiarity with Unreal Engine 4/5 testing workflows
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Genuine passion for FPS games with an eye for balance and polish

Level-Up Skills:

Prior experience with tactical shooters or extraction gameplay
Knowledge of automated testing frameworks or scripting
Familiarity with performance profiling tools
Experience with JIRA or similar tracking systems

Additional Information

🚀 Why Ironbelly Studios?

The Team: Join a diverse team of developers, designers, and creatives who care about making great games.

The Impact: Shape a major RPG experience from development into live operations, with meaningful influence over how players discover, understand, and enjoy the game.

The Culture: We value trust, autonomy, data-informed decisions, continuous improvement, and high-quality craftsmanship in a collaborative environment.

📍 Location

Hybrid - Montreal - 1–3 days/week at Basecamp in beautiful Montreal.

Alternative working arrangements and relocation support may be discussed for the right candidate.
