As Canada's premier event producer, we work with industry leaders and innovators to imagine, develop, and deliver exceptional experiences, both virtual, live, and beyond. We build experiences that make connections, shift thinking, and inspire action.

We are currently looking for an Accounting Manager to join our expanding team.

Does this sound like you?

  • I believe financial accuracy creates confidence and enables great decisions.
  • I enjoy bringing structure, discipline, and clarity to complex financial information.
  • I naturally look for ways to improve processes, strengthen controls, and create efficiencies without compromising accuracy.
  • I take pride in ensuring every transaction is complete, every account balances, and every deadline is met.
  • I understand that accounting is about more than numbers. It's about creating trust, stability, and confidence across the organization.
  • I thrive in environments where attention to detail, accountability, and continuous improvement are valued.

About the Role

Reporting to the Accounting Lead and working closely with the Fractional Chief Financial Officer, the Accounting Manager is responsible for creating the financial confidence that allows ELP to Produce Greatness. This role supports the Accounting Lead by executing key accounting functions such as operational accounting activities, financial controls, month-end close processes, payroll, compliance obligations, cash management, and continuous improvement initiatives that support the company's ongoing growth and success.

As a trusted financial partner, the Accounting Manager ensures financial information remains accurate, reliable, and actionable. Through disciplined processes, strong controls, thoughtful stewardship, and a commitment to excellence, this role helps protect the integrity of the business while providing leaders with the clarity needed to make informed decisions.

With equal parts analytical rigor and practical execution, the Accounting Manager strengthens financial operations, reduces risk, improves reporting quality, and supports the long-term sustainability of the organization.

As our Accounting Manager, you will:

  • Support day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, expense management, and general ledger activities.
  • Support and complete the execution of monthly close activities, reconciliations, and financial record reviews to ensure accurate, complete, and reliable financial information.
  • Maintain the integrity of accounting systems, financial records, and supporting documentation while ensuring audit readiness at all times.
  • Complete tax filings, remittances, government reporting requirements, and other compliance obligations accurately and on time.
  • Monitor cash activity, banking transactions, and corporate credit card activity to maintain financial visibility and control.
  • Strengthen internal controls, financial processes, and accounting procedures that protect company assets and reduce organizational risk.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and system enhancements that improve efficiency and reporting quality.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, tools, and procedures that support consistency, scalability, and operational excellence.

Are you the one we are looking for?

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

Skills & Strengths

  • Strong operational accounting expertise across accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, reconciliations, general ledger administration, and month-end close activities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, reliable, and audit-ready financial information.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, internal controls, compliance requirements, and financial stewardship.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate discrepancies and implement effective solutions.
  • Advanced proficiency with accounting systems and financial technologies, including QuickBooks or similar platforms.
  • Process improvement mindset with the ability to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, strengthen controls, and enhance reporting capabilities.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to explain financial information clearly and collaborate across the organization.
  • Strong planning, organization, and time-management skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities and consistently meet deadlines.
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, accountability, and integrity when handling confidential financial information.

Education & Experience

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll administration, reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
  • Experience supporting regulatory compliance, tax filings, remittances, audits, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Experience maintaining accurate financial records within an accrual accounting environment.
  • Proven experience developing, documenting, or improving accounting processes, controls, and financial systems.
  • Strong proficiency using accounting software and financial management systems.
  • Experience within a project-based, professional services, agency, production, or events environment is considered an asset.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is an asset.
  • CPA designation or active pursuit of a CPA designation is considered an asset.
