The
Account Representative will be responsible for providing service to East Penn Canada’s national, regional and local accounts within their assigned territory. The Account Representative will also be responsible for providing training to customers, as appropriate, to support business growth.
Please note that this is a non-commissioned role focused exclusively on account management. It does not involve direct sales or sales targets.
East Penn Canada is seeking candidates with approximately 1–3 years of experience in account management, route sales, merchandizing, or a related field. This is a great opportunity for individuals looking to grow their careers in customer relationship management and develop within a supportive team environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct regular service calls at assigned customer locations (on the road for most of each workday)
- Ensure customers’ merchandising (product displays, POP, and signage) are current and effectively promote East Penn’s products
- Maintain East Penn inventories, including product model inventories, at customer locations such as retail stores and automotive dealerships
- Review daily inventory reports & reconcile with actual inventory
- Provide technical information and product training to customers, emphasising product value, salable features, and buyer benefits
- Regularly review customer product mixes and recommend orders based on analysis of customer sales trends
- Liaise with customer contacts to confirm all orders delivered are accurate
- Efficiently and effectively perform battery inspections at customer sites (comprehensive product training will be provided)
- Deliver product to customer locations and pick up used and/or warranty claim products for return to East Penn Canada warehouse
- Provide warranty support for all assigned accounts
Experience, Skills & Competencies
- 1-3 years of customer service gained in route sales, merchandising, or account management preferred
- Experience within the power storage, automotive, or general industrial manufacturing/distribution sectors is a strong asset
- Strong customer focus with the ability to build and maintain long-term business relationships
- Solid planning, organizational and time management skills
- Very strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Self-directed, able to work with minimal oversight, and highly results-driven
- Experience using a CRM system, with Salesforce experience highly preferred
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite
Other Considerations & Requirements
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license with no major driving infractions and willingness to travel within given territory daily
- Solid familiarity with Saskatoon and surrounding areas, with candidate residing within reasonable driving distance of East Penn’s branch location
- Background checks including criminal record, driver's abstracts & employment references will be required for successful applicants
