Original job description

Retail Assistant Store Manager

Designated Office:
Eastlink Retail Store
475 Granville St
Summerside, PE C1N 3N9

Great customer experiences start with great leaders. As a Retail Assistant Store Manager, you’ll help create a welcoming store where customers feel understood, team members feel supported, and goals are achieved together.

You’ll work alongside the Store Manager to lead day-to-day operations, coach the retail team, and connect customers with Eastlink products and services that fit their needs. If you enjoy developing people, solving problems, and turning great conversations into results, this could be the next step in your retail leadership career.

What You’ll Be Doing

This is a hands-on leadership role. You’ll be expected to spend much of your time on the sales floor, working alongside the team to greet and assist customers, understand their needs, recommend the right products and services, and actively contribute to individual and store sales targets. You’ll also:

Support the Store Manager with daily operations, sales performance, merchandising, and an exceptional in-store experience
Lead by example on the sales floor by welcoming customers, asking thoughtful questions, demonstrating products, and recommending solutions that add real value
Coach, motivate, and develop team members through regular feedback, product knowledge, and hands-on support
Take an active role in achieving targets while keeping the customer experience at the centre of every interaction
Step in to resolve customer concerns with sound judgment, professionalism, and a solutions-first mindset
Promote a safe, inclusive, accountable, and collaborative team environment

We’re looking for a customer-focused leader who brings accountability and a genuine interest in helping others succeed. You build strong relationships, communicate clearly, adapt quickly, and stay calm when priorities shift. You’re comfortable making decisions, solving problems, and working alongside your team in a fast-paced sales environment.

What You Bring

A track record of achieving sales targets and business objectives
Strong communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
Confidence using billing systems, Microsoft Outlook, and POS systems
Experience coaching and developing employees in a sales, retail, or customer service environment is an asset
Telecommunications experience is an asset

About Eastlink

Eastlink is proudly family-owned and headquartered in Halifax, Nova Scotia. After more than 50 years, we’ve grown from a small-town startup into one of Canada’s Best Managed companies without losing our entrepreneurial edge. We move fast. We try new things. We care about doing right by our customers, and we’re not afraid to take a different approach to make that happen.

Why Work with Us

We could say we’re not your typical telecom, but what makes us different is how we operate day to day. At Eastlink, we’re a tight-knit team all working toward common goals. We’re big enough to do meaningful work, but small enough that you can actually make your mark. You won’t get stuck waiting for layers of approval or years of tenure to make an impact! We believe in getting involved, speaking up, and figuring things out together. We’re always listening, learning, and adapting because our customers (and our people) expect us to. And just like we invest in our network, we invest in you, with intention and for the long run.

When you join Eastlink, you'll enjoy:

Opportunities for internal growth and promotion
Paid vacation and holidays
Comprehensive health and dental benefits
Company pension plan with employer contributions
Employee discounts on Eastlink products and services

We’re committed to building a workplace where everyone feels they belong. We embrace diversity, inclusion, equity, and accessibility throughout all levels of the organization and encourage members of equity groups to self-identify during the application process. Need an accommodation during the hiring process? We encourage you to reach out and let us know how we can support your participation.
